Free to See In His Word 3-12-18

In John 9 we read about the blind man being healed. There is something that stood out to me today as I read it that He did not see Jesus as the Son of God at the first sight. He just knew he could see. He was excited and grateful but he did not know Jesus from Adam and literally had no idea whom it was that healed him.

Now as Jesus passed by, He saw a man who was blind from birth.  And His disciples asked Him, saying, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?” Jesus answered, “Neither this man nor his parents sinned, but that the works of God should be revealed in him. I must work the works of Him who sent Me while it is day; the night is coming when no one can work. As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.” When He had said these things, He spat on the ground and made clay with the saliva; and He anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay. And He said to him, “Go, wash in the pool of Siloam” (which is translated, Sent). So he went and washed, and came back seeing. Therefore the neighbors and those who previously had seen that he was blind[b] said, “Is not this he who sat and begged?” Some said, “This is he.” Others said, “He is like him.”[c]He said, “I am he. Therefore they said to him, “How were your eyes opened?” He answered and said, “A Man called Jesus made clay and anointed my eyes and said to me, ‘Go to the pool of Siloam and wash.’ So I went and washed, and I received sight.”

Pharisees questioned him and they excommunicated him for not knowing who it was. In other words they put him out of the Synagogue because he was healed on the Sabbath as well as not being ble to point out the person. They claimed that Jesus was a sinner. The man’s parents were afraid because if anyone said that Jesus was the Christ it would they would also be put out.

The bland man said Jesus was a prophet when questioned, he thought that Jesus was just a man. Then later in the chapter we find that he realizes who Jesus really is!

God healed him physically that he would see Spiritually.

He gave the man a freedom that not many at that time knew; freedom from the bondage of blindness in two ways!

He was free to see Him as He is!

We are the same if you think about it; we were freed from our spiritual blindness to be able to see Him as Jesus the Christ and Lord of our lives!

We were once walking in blindness to the Word of God, it was just a fancy book that some people read. Only through faith we have found it to be the true and inspired word of God!

Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed.  And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” They answered Him, “We are Abraham’s descendants, and have never been in bondage to anyone. How can You say, ‘You will be made free’?” Jesus answered them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, whoever commits sin is a slave of sin.  And a slave does not abide in the house forever, but a son abides forever.  Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed. John 8:30-36

We can now be free in His Word! In His love, and by His spirit!

Only through faith can we be free to understand His word, and only through Faith can we truly be free in the Spirit; but only through the Holy Spirit can we truly have faith!

It works like love; the love of God is that God is love! If we know love we know God if we know Go we know love.

When we have received the measure of faith God has given us to believe and accept that He is real we have true faith.

When we have faith we can;

Move a mountain-Matthew 17:20

Grow a tree- Mark 4:30

Dream big dreams like Joseph!

Be healed like the blind man in John 9

And be free from bondage, from pain, from suffering; though we may have to walk in it we will not walk in bondage to these things; they will not get us down!

The world may say “life is what you make it” but the Word says life is having faith!
Faith is the substance of things hoped for the evidence of things not yet seen!

Having faith gives us freedom! Faith comes from the Son of God, who sets us free!

Free indeed!

Dear Heavenly father thank you that You have given us a measure of faith that we may trust you and grow that faith to be strong enough to move a mountain of trouble in our way today, help us to be strong in your power and might; in Jesus name, amen
