They that wait upon the Lord shall renew thier strength...they shall run and not be weary...teach me Lord to wait.
A song adapted from the following verse is often taken out of context it has ministered to many hearts and minds. When we wait on the Lord it can mean sitting at His feet just being in His presence as they say. Listening via the Holy Spirit from His heart to ours.
But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint. Isaiah 40.31.NLT
In this version the word 'trust' is inserted in the place of wait. So we can see we are trusting the Lord to do something that will strengthen us. Whether it's in a resolve, or physical body, we believe, or hope, that He will do it and He will!
It dosen't always happen right away. Like when a loved one is sick and maybe in the hospital. We pray for healing yet sometimes we don't see it for days or even weeks!
Waiting is said to be the hardest part of life. We wait for change but then when it happens we find something else needs waiting for. Now here's a thing, waiting for the Lord to respond and waiting for your order are two different things. Even so we often beet to be patient and not expect God to do things on our order but instead to we let our requests be known to God with patience. In His time the answer He chooses as the best will come.
Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord. Psalm 27:14
Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7
What we really need to do to trust God is to follow the guidance in Philippians there. Put your trust and hope in Him patiently waiting for the answers to come. Then just accept it. God knows best.
He also will give you the strength you need through Christ.
I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength. Philippians 4:13
