Are you passing the test? In His Word 4-20-2026
When stuff happens in the world and you don’t know what to
do, trust God.
When your life feels like it is falling apart, or wasting away, or like everything is coming at you at once;
trust God.
So why not read the Word to trust God? Think about it the
way we get faith is by knowing God accepting that HE exists. Then we can learn
what faith really is by reading about Jesus talking about it for healing and
encouraging others in the Gospels. Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. But it does
not stop there!
Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.
Right? (Romans 10:17) So we can strengthen our faith, or grow it by believing
the truth of the Word. But wait! Faith is believing isn’t it?
Faith shows the reality of what we hope for; it is the
evidence of things we cannot see. Through their faith, the people in days of old
earned a good reputation. By faith we understand that the entire universe was
formed at God’s command, that what we now see did not come from anything that
can be seen. Hebrews 11:1-3
Faith is not
something we can see, its something we have or do. I think that means we choose
to have faith. Choosing faith over fear is like that. We choose to trust God to
follow through with His promises, or directions that He gave us when we walk through
the storm without stopping because He said to.
Shadrach Meshach and Abednego are a great example of that. (see
Daniel 3:19-27) They trusted that God would either protect them from death or
redeem them without waver. They trusted that God would bring them out the other
side. He will do the same for us, if we have enough trust and faith in God to
do so.
What else do we need to walk the walk Jesus has put before
us?
We need Wisdom. Wisdom helps us to know when our faith in
God is enough to get through things. Wisdom helps us ‘handle’ things when they
come up with grace and peace. Wisdom helps us to know where to step when the
ground gets soggy in life! When to speak and when to stay quiet! (James 1:19)
Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come
your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your faith is tested,
your endurance has a chance to grow. So
let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect
and complete, needing nothing.
If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give
it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking. But when you ask him, be sure
that your faith is in God alone. Do not waver, for a person with divided
loyalty is as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is blown and tossed by the
wind. Such people should not expect to
receive anything from the Lord. Their loyalty is divided between God and the
world, and they are unstable in everything they do. James 1:1-8
It all works together doesn’t it? Therefore, since we have
been made right in God’s sight by faith, we have peace[a] with God because of
what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us. Because of our faith, Christ has
brought us into this place of undeserved privilege where we now stand, and we
confidently and joyfully look forward to sharing God’s glory. We can rejoice,
too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us
develop endurance. And endurance
develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of
salvation. And this hope will not lead
to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us
the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love. Romans 5:1-5
Do you pass the test? If so it means you put your hope and
trust in God to get you to the other side of whatever it is you are going
through.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart don’t try to figure it
all out but try to allow God to take charge of your life today. Remember Jesus
gives us do overs if we are sincerely trying to trust Him through the troubles
and not trying to fix it all ourselves in the wrong ways!
Heavenly Father, thank you for helping us to grow our faith
and put our trust in You to guide us through each day, each problem, each storm
we come to. In Jesus’ name
