Read, Pray, Trust, Pray, In His Word

David went through a lot in his life following God and then making dumb choices as well. We can choose to look at his failures, or we can choose to look at His triumphs. He does both, gets caught up in the moment, then lets it go and lets God take charge again. Don't give up today, keep praying!

My heart is breaking as I remember how it used to be: I walked among the crowds of worshipers,    leading a great procession to the house of God, singing for joy and giving thanks amid the sound of a great celebration!

Why am I discouraged? Why is my heart so sad? I will put my hope in God! I will praise him again—    my Savior and my God!

Now I am deeply discouraged, but I will remember you—(Lord) even from distant Mount Hermon, the source of the Jordan,  from the land of Mount Mizar. Psalm 42:4-6

When you are feeling discouraged, and far away from what you are praying for, stop yourself like David did here! He asked himself why he was feeling this way and then reminded himself all that God had done, and reminded him that God would be there still.

When we hit this time of the month of prayer we can become warn out and weary. It is not just about the physical needs we are fasting from, but it is often a spiritual battle that plagues us. Sometimes we start to think that our fast is useless, the daily prayers are failures because the answers we want are not happening when we want them. But God! God has His plans and we need to remember to pray His Will be done. When we do that, we can remind ourselves we prayed, "Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven." go back a couple weeks, we actually prayed that together my friend! Trust is the next step.

Trust in the Lord

For like grass, they soon fade away. Like spring flowers, they soon wither. Trust in the Lord and do good. Then you will live safely in the land and prosper.  Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you your heart’s desires. Psalm 37:2-4

Our doubts that the Lord is in control of the situation will fade as those spring flowers, when we trust in the Lord an do good, don't allow ourselves to wallow in discouragement but look to God for the direction. Proverbs 3:5-8 check it out yourself!
