“I am leaving you with a gift..." Jesus said.
Don’t Worry, Have Peace ~ Advent Day 12
Did you figure out how to find Peace yet this week?
Did you use the ideas and strengths we discussed in the Word?
Jesus gives us so many and these two sets stood out to me
today while I went through some possibly stressful things. I chose peace.
“Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust
also in me. There is more than enough
room in my Father’s home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am
going to prepare a place for you? When everything is ready, I will come and get
you, so that you will always be with me where I am. And you know the way to
where I am going.”
“No, we don’t know, Lord,” Thomas said. “We have no idea
where you are going, so how can we know the way?” John 14:1-5
I chose to trust in the Lord with all my heart, He knows
what He is doing, even if I do not!
He assured me I could find peace, for my mind and heart,
because He gives it to us.
“I am leaving you
with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world
cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid. Remember what I told you: I am going away, but
I will come back to you again. If you really loved me, you would be happy that
I am going to the Father, who is greater than I am. I have told you these things before they
happen so that when they do happen, you will believe. John 14:27-29
I like that Jesus said “I leave with you” kjv, and “I am
leaving you with a gift…”in NLT. Either way he is leaving it with us, not just
giving for a moment but leaving it in our possession.
Think on that for a moment.
We are not meant to have peace for a moment, but for all
times; it is with us need to remember to know it, feel it, and live it.
We can learn to walk in peace, putting on that proverbial t
shirt that says PEACE on it and not taking it off. Wear it like a second skin.
Everything is going to be alright if we just trust Him and
believe.
Choose to believe that the Lord Jesus Christ gave you and
left it there the Peace that passes understanding that can only come from God.
Relish in it!
