Finding Peace in itself- in the Word
Finding peace is not always easy when things start to get to you. Like for instance, when a loved one passes during the Christmas Season it is hard to keep the traditions or celebrations the same, even if you know they would have wanted it that way.
“For everyone will be tested with fire. Salt is good for seasoning. But if it loses its flavor, how do you make it salty again? You must have the qualities of salt among yourselves and live in peace with each other.” Mark 9: 49-50
Sometimes we have to work hard at keeping peace in the house let alone the peace on earth good will toward men that the angels talk about when Jesus was born. We need to be purposeful in our days and keep the faith alive by reading the Word. Personally I enjoy starting my day off with a quick read to start my day. That's why I write daily reads actually, because I like them and it makes it easier to get in the habit of reading the Bible.
When I start my day that way I find my attitude stays on a good though because the Word of God is flowing through my mind all day! I think it helps me to get the peace flowing too! I just make it a plan to live at peace with even the people who try hard not to be peaceful with us! You know there is someone in your life, we all have that one person or more, who makes it hard to keep the peace.
I think thats one reason we read in Hebrews 12 to make a straight path for our fee, and help those who may be weak not fall. It says we need to work at living in peace. So that tells me I have no choice but to do it because it said to in the Word of God. It goes on to give us ways to do this by the other things we do in our lives so that we can help others out, and it will help us out too!
There are only a few days left this week, so keep the focus! Live at Peace with those around you, do your best to let issues go and just be kind as Jesus would be! You can do this if I can! Mark out a straight path for our feet so that those who are weak and lame will not fall but become strong. Work at living in peace with everyone, and work at living a holy life, for those who are not holy will not see the Lord. Look after each other so that none of you fails to receive the grace of God. Watch out that no poisonous root of bitterness grows up to trouble you, corrupting many. Hebrews 12:13-15

The Lord gives his people strength. The Lord blesses them with peace. 29:11
Look at those who are honest and good, for a wonderful future awaits those who love peace. 37:37
Heavenly Father thank you for granting us peace in difficult situations; help us to work at giving that peace forward to those around us by following the instructions in Your Word and in prayer for one another, in Jesus' name, amen.
