Get Your Heart Right! In His Word 9-23-2024

So many people are asking for miracles today without doing their part in trusting God for them. Why do we think God would bless us? I mean He often does even when we do not think He will, but as Jesus said several times “Oh you of little faith”.  We fail at trusting Him, believing that He will do what He says and we fail to keep our hearts clean before God.

But we are only human! We will fail, then get back up and accept that God will pull us out of the trouble again once we repent of the things He does not want us doing.

Sin. It can be a dirty thing, or it can be a ‘little’ thing in our eyes but still, it’s wrong in God’s eyes. If we want Him to hear our prayer we need to be right with Him. We need to get the iniquity out of our hearts and minds.

I cried to Him with my mouth, and He was extolled with my tongue. if I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear.  But certainly, God has heard me; He has attended to the voice of my prayer. L Psalm 66:17-19  (read the Rest of the Chapter!)

What is iniquity? The dictionary defines it as “immoral, grossly unfair behavior, wickedness, impropriety, vice, and evil” as well as sums it up with the word “sin”.

So if we keep the ideas, or the actions of any kind of sinfulness in our lives via hearts or minds then He will not hear our prayers. He will choose not to listen to them because we are choosing to walk in the issues at hand.

So what can we do? We ask Him to hide our iniquities from His eyes, we ask God to cleans our hearts and minds.

Create in me a clean heart, O God, And renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me away from Your presence and do not take Your Holy Spirit from me.  Restore to me the joy of Your salvation and sustain me with a willing spirit. Then I will teach transgressors Your ways, and sinners will be converted to You. Psalm 51:10-14 (Read the Rest of the Chapter!)

We repent, we ask God to cleanse us and then we teach others to follow the same route and get salvation!  We do not go through weakness and not learn from it, so we must take our lessons learned to the world and share ‘how to fix your life with Christ! ‘

Today there are so may ways to share, we can go on media and share how God pulled us out of a money pit, a muddy pit, or a pile of lies.  Then being humble we can share how we are now trying to walk our lives out the way God wants instead of just getting that next good feel, purchase or whatever it is that was pulling us down.

Our God shall supply all our needs according to His riches in glory.

This verse is not talking about according to our wishes and wants! It is according to what He knows we need, what He sees best!

The problem is we get impatient and want to fix things ourselves which usually ends up putting us in sticky situations or more problems.  We need to work on our heart with God, get into the Bible and read more to cleanse our hearts and minds from the ‘bad’ stuff and fill us up with the good! Godly good!  Then don’t stop just caue things are going right in your life, keep it up! Read at least a chapter a day, then write your thoughts down or just quote it!  God will write it on your heart and it will be there to pop up when you need it! Our job is to pick up the Bible and read!  To bow our hearts and our knees in prayer  The to trust that God will bring us through it!

Trust is hard, but when we let go and let God deal with us, our hearts and minds, and when we heed His Word, then we will find that comfort and joy and direction of our paths!

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways to him, and he will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and shun evil. This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones. Proverbs 3:5-8

Trust Him today with whatever you are walking through. Seek Him to show  you the sin, if you do not see it. If you are clean hearted already ask Him to direct your path to what He has you there for, and trust that He will do it!

Sometimes we walk through stuff even when we do not deserve it. Shadrack Meshach and Abednego are a perfect example of this! In the Book of Daniel you can read all about how they did the right things and yet still were thrown into a hot with fire furnace to burn! God had it all figured out they just walked the walk and in the fire they were not burned in fact Jesus was in there with them! They were called out of the fire and because of this miraculous thing they had no idea would happen, the king of the nation they were being held captive in became a believer!  Let me encourage you to go read Daniel this week! It is an amazing true story!

Then see if you can trust God more!

Be blessed this week as you dig into His Word to find faith, hope, and trust in His Word.
