Day 21~Advent Countdown- In His Word 12-21-2023

We have been preparing the house, some have created gifts, some have shopped till we dropped; the day is coming when all of this will be behind us, and we will have the inbetween week to relax.

God prepared the way for Jesus to be born, He send John ahead to share the Good News that would come in the form of Jesus. He knew who Jesus was, he was a cousin, but also that God had shown him as Jesus walked up was a pretty amazing way to confirm it all!

In the same way we focus on our  tasks at hand we focus on the deeds to do and let everyone know what they need to do. The communication of who He is was so vital to the timing of His appearing.

This is the Good News about Jesus the Messiah, the Son of God. It began just as the prophet Isaiah had written:

“Look, I am sending my messenger ahead of you,  and he will prepare your way. He is a voice shouting in the wilderness, ‘Prepare the way for the Lord’s coming! Clear the road for him!’” Mark 1:1-3

Stop worrying, the Kingdom of God is at hand! Jesus has come and we need to stop trying, as I said  yesterday, to get it all done the way we want and start watching to see what God wants. We need to stop putting everything on our own shoulders and start allowing others to help.

God sent John to make things ready, so why not us? Why don’t we learn to delegate the things we cannot complete? I will tell you now, we do not trust other people to do our work for us. God had to trust John, He sent him to tell about Jesus, so He had to trust Him with that job. We need to learn to do this as well, trust someone else to make the mashed potatoes, to stuff the stockings, to clean the toilets before the guests arrive. Yes even the dirty things we think we are the only ones who can do it right, we need to let someone else learn how to step up and do the things.

Send out your messenger to do your prep work today so that things will be ready when you approach the day. Let someone else wrap your gifts, but you do your own unwrapping. See what I did there! When we allow someone else to do part of what we always did it allows them to find a gift they did not now they had. Maybe your 12 year old is good at cleaning toilets maybe your 13 year old can wrap a gift like a pro? Who knows unless we give them the chance to shine?

Release your prep team to do the will of the Father in their lives as John did for the time of his life to shine for Jesus! In His Love
