Day 12 ~ Advent Countdown-In His Word  12-10-2023

It’s getting closer to Christmas. I can guarantee that you are either getting excited or you are stressing out! I have been on both spectrums this week! My lists were getting longer and longer, and I realized there were some things I just had to do, and other things that could be put on a ‘maybe -do’ list. Just that gave me a bit of peace. Remembering that it is not all about doing-doing-doing, but it is about the moments in between that are important.

When the list is long we can take a break and breathe. Enjoy a good hot cocoa, or a swift cup of coffee or tea; then just relax. It may only be a moment that you can relax but if in that moment we think on the right things then all will fall into place.

Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need and thank Him for all He has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ. And now dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. Keep putting into practice all you have learned and received from me—everything you heard from me and saw me doing.  Then  the peace of God will be with you. Philippians 4:6-9

When we keep our minds on Him and His direction, His peace will flow through our hearts and minds and we will not allow, or rather He will not allow  us to wallow in the stress and the pity of having to give up something for something else.

Change is good, we sometimes have to get things done in a different way than we used to. Decorations change, gardens grow, life is just plain different at times. When we have to rewrite our lists and put things in proper priority we just need to do it and then go down and get rid of anything that we do not find His peace in, then it will work out.

Take time today to read your Bible verses, then read over your to do list and trim the list, not just the tree today! Be blessed with peace and purpose today, In His Love and In Jesus’ name…
