Day 10~ Advent Countdown-In His Word 12-10-2023
I have had a full day, it is supposed to be a day of rest
and I am at present resting, all but for this little blog post. I wandered
around in some stores looking for a specific thing for my house today. It was
stressful for me because I do not like spending money on anything. If it costs
more than 20 dollars I stress out. I know it is wrong, I know I can afford it,
but it was not always so. So the memories in the back of my mind are from
having to take that 20 dollars and feed myself for a week and get myself to
work and back on rainy days or even snowy days. So, it is hard for me to get
through it. I begin with a shaky feeling and then a knot in my stomach, but
then I remind myself that I can trust God to take care of it! Sometimes I
remember that I tell others ‘Peace be still” just like Jesus. That’s when it
stops, because I am reminded of Jesus calming the storm, I remember how he
called out the disciples for not having enough faith, not trusting Hiim enough
really.
When Jesus woke up, he rebuked the wind and said to the
waves, “Silence (peace)! Be still!” Suddenly the wind stopped, and there was a
great calm. Mark 4:39
When we get all caught up in stress and nonsense we just need
to remind ourselves trust God, He is in control and remember that there is no
reason to worry or be afraid because He is with us in all that we do, He never
leaves us nor forsakes us. So why worry? Why fret? He’s got this one too!
