Just Accept it! In His Word 10-2-23
When we decide
to accept the truth of Jesus the Christ as our savior and Lord, we make a
choice to follow Him where He leads. We do not always realize this but that is
essentially what we are doing when we are accepting Him as the Lord of our
lives. The thing we don’t think about much but that is wholly true is that as
our protector and provider our Lord wants to guide us to the next step or next
level In our lives. He has the plan figured out; He has the ideas of how to
make the best life for us to live but we do not always follow the steps. When
this happens just like the Psalmist below we need to realize and repent and
renew our walk with Him. David was known as a
man after God’s own heart and yet we read how he failed and failed again
to keep his heart and life pure before God. His example is written down for us
to read and see what a forgiving God we serve!
O Lord, I
give my life to you. I trust in you, my God! Do not let me be disgraced, or let my enemies rejoice in my defeat. No
one who trusts in you will ever be disgraced, but disgrace comes to those who
try to deceive others.
Show me the
right path, O Lord; point out the road for me to follow. Lead me by your truth
and teach me, for you are the God who
saves me. All day long I put my hope in you. Remember, O Lord, your compassion
and unfailing love, which you have shown from long ages past. Do not remember
the rebellious sins of my youth. Remember me in the light of your unfailing
love, for you are merciful, O Lord. The Lord is good and does what is right; he
shows the proper path to those who go astray. He leads the humble in doing
right, teaching them his way. The Lord leads with unfailing love and
faithfulness all who keep his covenant and obey his demands. For the honor of
your name, O Lord, forgive my many, many sins. Who are those who fear the Lord?
He will show them the path they should choose.
They will live in prosperity, and their children will inherit the land.14 The
Lord is a friend to those who fear him. He teaches them his covenant. My eyes
are always on the Lord, for he rescues me from the traps of my enemies. Turn to
me and have mercy, for I am alone and in deep distress. Psalm 25:1-14
The enemy
would trap us, that is if we allowed him to!
Once we are following Jesus’ directions then we no longer can be touched
by the enemy unless we allow it. HE tries to play mind games, He tries to
convince us that we are not saved sometimes even, but God knows us by name!
But now,
this is what the Lord says— he who
created you, Jacob, he who formed you, Israel: “Do not fear, for I have
redeemed you; I have summoned you by
name; you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through
the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you
will not be burned; the flames will not
set you ablaze. For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your
Savior;… Isiah 43:1-3
If you love
me, obey my commandments. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you
another Advocate, who will never leave you. He is the Holy Spirit, who leads
into all truth. The world cannot receive him because it isn’t looking for him
and doesn’t recognize him. But you know him because he lives with you now and
later will be in you. John 14:15-17
No matter what we go through, pain, sorrow, storms, or even good things in life, God is with us wherever we go. He will not leave us, and we should not try to leave Him. The truth is wherever we got He is there, and we cannot hide from God!
Today, I
want us to think about these things. His love for us is so huge that it will
cover a multitude of sins, and He will keep forgiving us. 70 times 7! Matthew
18:22
He wants to
love us into obedience instead of chasing us around trying to make us behave He
died so we could be forgiven and giving a second chance. He gave us a chance to
live life, mess up and ask for forgiveness, then choose to walk again in the
path He puts before us. Let’s think about all the things we can do to bring Him
thanks, glory, and honor today! Let’s bless Him as He has blessed us!
How? By doing
unto others as He has done for us! Share
His love, His story, His hope with others and give Him glory! In His Word
