Living in the Spirit- it's not always easy- In His Word 5-6-23

Living in the Spirit In His Word 5-6-23

Sometimes doing the right thing hurts. It is hard to speak up for the Gospel knowing people who are walking where we once walked, in sin. So many do not know the difference, but the Bible can teach them when we cannot. *Warning, some people may be offended by this post, but it is the Word of God.

“Do to others whatever you would like them to do to you. This is the essence of all that is taught in the law and the prophets. “

You can enter God’s Kingdom only through the narrow gate. The highway to hell is broad, and its gate is wide for the many who choose that way. Matthew 7:12-13

If you read or listen to the news lately you may be walking in fear of what its coming to. It seems people are complaining about the weather changing, the way people are behaving, and treating one another; its horrible!  The worst of it is the fact that even those calling themselves Christians are treating one another cruelly and for the most part acting like people in the world.

That is just wrong! We are to walk In His Spirit and walk in His Word; walk like Jesus walked.

The time is coming when everything that is covered up will be revealed, and all that is secret will be made known to all.  Whatever you have said in the dark will be heard in the light, and what you have whispered behind closed doors will be shouted from the housetops for all to hear!

“Dear friends, don’t be afraid of those who want to kill your body; they cannot do any more to you after that.” Luke 12:2-4

Instead, you yourselves cheat and do wrong, and you do this to your brothers and sisters. Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.  And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God. Instead of living like the world an doing the things greedy people or cheaters would do, we need to take the time to seek God and find out how He wants us to live.                  1 Corinthians 6:8-11

The Bible does not just tell us what not to do, below is an example of what to do!

Imitate God, therefore, in everything you do because you are his dear children. Live a life filled with love, following the example of Christ. He loved us and offered himself as a sacrifice for us, a pleasing aroma to God.

Let there be no sexual immorality, impurity, or greed among you. Such sins have no place among God’s people. Obscene stories, foolish talk, and coarse jokes—these are not for you. Instead, let there be thankfulness to God. You can be sure that no immoral, impure, or greedy person will inherit the Kingdom of Christ and of God. For a greedy person is an idolater, worshiping the things of this world.

Don’t be fooled by those who try to excuse these sins, for the anger of God will fall on all who disobey him. Don’t participate in the things these people do. For once you were full of darkness, but now you have light from the Lord. So ,live as people of light! For this light within you produces only what is good and right and true. Ephesians 5:1-9

I could have cut some of  that out, but God said not to leave out one jot nor one tittle!  Sorry if I offend anyone but I want you to know the truth and to see that the truth will set you free.  Any sin commited is equal to any sin commited in God’s eyes. So, if you hate your brother or sister you will not be one of God’s people either, so love those who are foolish, and make bad choices, but love them with the Love of God.  Share the truth with them that they too can be free.  It all comes own to love God, love others, and try to live at peace, but how will you find peace if you are carrying sinful things with you?

Like I said, I may offend someone, if so I am sorry, but if you and I want to be the people God wants us to be we need to get in the Word of God more, and study to show ourselves approved by God! We need to pray daily, more than once if needed, but pray! Ask God forgiveness for things we know we did and for things we my have just done because it was what we always did but did not realize it was wrong. Let’s trust God to show us the right way to walk in His Spirit, to walk in His truth and to walk in His love.  Even if it means once in a while we need to be harsh worded.

Trust God to know when and who needs to hear it,

In His love and In His Word.
