You can do it! In His Word 2-27-23

Some days it seems like our prayer times are more of ‘help me Lord’ thank praise and thankfulness. It’s not always our fault but things can get us behind in bills, or we can get caught up in the wrong crowd trying to do good, but then we realize we should be seeking God first then hanging with the people He wants us to hang with. After all it is easier to fall down and get depressed hanging with people who complain a lot, but it’s harder to stand up and be strong on your own.

Maybe storms are sending hail down on your world right now and you just do not know how to get out of the spot you are in. You know when this happens it is easy to just  float down the gutter with the waste water, or we can stop and seek God, ask Him for help!

You know it is okay to ask Him for help every day if you need it. Just so long as you pay attention to what He says to do!

How do  you know what to do? You look in His Word. Of course, I do not just mean my blog, but the Bible. It is full of encouragement for each day you live. Some of my favorite bits of encouragement come from Philippians chapter 4. Paul went through so much in his life as a believer in Christ and yet He stood strong and continued to encourage us to do the same.

Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stay true to the Lord. I love you and long to see you, dear friends, for you are my joy and the crown I receive for my work  Now I appeal to Euodia and Syntyche. Please, because you belong to the Lord, settle your disagreement.  And I ask you, my true partner,[b] to help these two women, for they worked hard with me in telling others the Good News. They worked along with Clement and the rest of my co-workers, whose names are written in the Book of Life.  Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again—rejoice!  Let everyone see that you are considerate in all you do. Remember, the Lord is coming soon. Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need and thank him for all he has done.  Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.  Keep putting into practice all you learned and received from me—everything you heard from me and saw me doing. Then the God of peace will be with you. Philippians 4:1-9

There you go right there!  Fix your thoughts on the right things, behave like the person God wants you to be. Fixing it means to make yourself focused, not just pondering but really thinking about how to put things into place that will work to your godly benefit. Look up words you do not understand in the dictionary the back of your bible or look the verses up on YouVersion or on the Bible Hub. Find out what its all about and it will be easier to know what your part in finding that peace is.

How I praise the Lord that you are concerned about me again. I know you have always been concerned for me, but you didn’t have the chance to help me.  Not that I was ever in need, for I have learned how to be content with whatever I have.  I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. I have learned the secret of living in every situation, whether it is with a full stomach or empty, with plenty or little.  For I can do everything through Christ,  who gives me strength. Philippians 4:10-13

Lastly, when we pray we need to thank God and give Him honor and praise. Then pick up your Bible and read, ask God to show you what the verses you are reading today mean, ask, seek, find! He will give you the desires of your heart when you put your trust in Him. (psalm 37)

In His Love,
