Wise Men still seek Him, Count Down Day 21
Have you ever been looking or
someone in a crowd and suddenly you see them across the room? Do you remember
that bit of excitement that you felt? I can recall when my husband was coming
home from war on his ship. As the Frigate approached the docs we could see the
long line of Sailor all dressed in their identical uniforms standing on the
deck. I searched and sought each face. I had not even been married for a year
and had only seen my husband for a month after that. I missed him so dearly and
could not wait to hold him in my arms and be held by his. We wives and family
member stood on the dock as they tied off the ropes, put the bridge like thing
across to the dock and ship. Then I saw him! My husband! I wanted to fly over
everyone and get to him so bad I nearly ran over a few people fighting to get
there.
That is how it should be when we
seek the Lord. When we stop and take the moments to take time with Him, in His
Word and in prayer. As you will read below the wise men sought to find Jesus
the infant King. They asked everyone including the king of the land they were
living in for directions to find Jesus. Thankfully we can find out how to find
Him in His Word, our Bibles.
Seek the Lord while you can find
him. Call on him now while he is near. Let the wicked change their ways and banish the very thought of doing wrong.
Let them turn to the Lord that he may have mercy on them. Yes, turn to our God, for he will forgive
generously.
“My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,”
says the Lord.“ And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine. For just
as the heavens are higher than the earth,
so my ways are higher than your ways
and my thoughts higher than your thoughts. The rain and snow come down
from the heavens and stay on the ground
to water the earth. They cause the grain to grow, producing seed for the farmer
and bread for the hungry. It is the same with my word. I send it out, and it
always produces fruit. It will accomplish all I want it to, and it will prosper
everywhere I send it. You will live in joy and peace. The mountains and hills
will burst into song, and the trees of the field will clap their hands! Isaiah
55:6-12
Now after Jesus was born in
Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, [a]wise men from the
East came to Jerusalem, saying, “Where
is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we have seen His star in the East
and have come to worship Him.” Matthew 2:1-2
I have heard it said “Wise men
still seek Him.” Are you wise today?
Have you sought Him out and spent time in His presence today? If not, go do it
now! You won’t regret it! Put on some worship music, or sing out from your heart
and worship Him,
In His love
