HAPPY NEW YEARRRRR!!!! Count Down Day 31
New Year means a new beginning of
the calendar really. We start our numbers out at 1 tomorrow, or today for some
of you, but it does not mean everything will change. Change only comes when we
make it change, and maybe we do not want to change things?
Maybe we are walking right where
God put us and think its all okay but then God puts a new thing in our path to
do those changes everything.
The Bible is full of stories where
people had changes. Paul is one that stands out. He was trying t do what he
thought was the thing God wanted him to do as a Roman, and a Jew. He later
found on the road to Damascus where he was planning to kill Christians! Jesus
appeared to him and totally changed his life!
Meanwhile, Saul was uttering
threats with every breath and was eager to kill the Lord’s followers. So he
went to the high priest. He requested letters addressed to the synagogues in
Damascus, asking for their cooperation in the arrest of any followers of the
Way he found there. He wanted to bring them—both men and women—back to
Jerusalem in chains. As he was approaching Damascus on this mission, a light
from heaven suddenly shone down around him. Acts 9:1-3
Just like Saul, who is about to
become Paul, when we realize that Light is from heaven, I mean realize that
Jesus is real, our lives change too!
So this year as we start out with
new numbers let’s use them for His glory. Let’s choose to change how we do
things so that our thoughts are more aligned with the Word of God. Then let’s keep
going and pray daily, read the Word
daily, and gather together in groups so that we do not walk the wrong path but
the one God truly has put before us.
Saul learned to follow Jesus not
man. We can do the same this year, its God’s plan.
