Do you hear what I hear?

Do you hear what I hear?~Count Down Day 8

Last year I called it Adventures in Advents or some sort of cute thing, but this year I am counting to the end of the year with a stop off on the most important day!

One of the most important birth's was John, Jesus' cousin. John the Baptist’s dad, Zechariah, connected the dots when he praised God in his prophetic Word. If you read all of Chapter 1 of Luke you will understand the full story, but this part stood out today. Zechariah shared the truth, even before the people really knew. They listened though because he had not been speaking throughout wife’s pregnancy because he could not speak. He did not believe she would be pregnant because of her age but God had a plan!

Then his father, Zechariah, was filled with the Holy Spirit and gave this prophecy: “Praise the Lord, the God of Israel, because he has visited and redeemed his people. He has sent us a mighty Savior from the royal line of his servant David, Luke 1:67-68

The reason Jesus came when He did was God’s plan. Everything that happened was His plan. We try to plan our days; the Word says man plans his plans, but God makes things happen. That is grossly paraphrased but its what it means.

You can make many plans, but the Lord’s purpose will prevail. Proverbs 19:21

What are you planning for the rest of this year’s days? Have you asked God to be a part of it, or is He included in all of it? If He is included in all that means He has the direction ,and you follow Him. Let’s try to seek, ask, listen to God this week to see what God wants for us to do. Start out by praying and asking for direction, then stop and listen. Zechariah didn’t talk for about 9 months; I think we can wait a few moments to hear from God. Take time to listen, then obey, trust God to know what He is doing.

In His Love,
