Count down with- His Grace -Day 4
We are blessed people in this day and age. We do not always feel
like it but it is so true! We not only have churches and organizations out
there to feed the hungry, house the poor but at Christmas time there are places
and organizations that present “Christmas for Everyone” who is in a lower
income bracket. God sees how the people of our world do not always make the
right choices but in His grace He still chooses to give us grace. Okay, so its
not just today, but back in the Bible Days God had to deal with people who were
selfish and ignorant to His goodness to the point of choosing to follow the
wrong kind of god, or men. In His infinite
wisdom he has chosen to give us gifts for doing the will of God like we read
about yesterday. the scriptures below we
read about the many kinds of gifts God gives us. Each one is meant to be a
verb! We are given the ability to speak out what God tells us to, or teach when
He teaches us to, to lead, encourage, love one another to the best of our
abilities. Sometimes we feel like there is nothing we can give, but I want you
to know today that God has given you something to give.
In His grace, God has given us different gifts for doing
certain things well. So, if God has given you the ability to prophesy, speak
out with as much faith as God has given you. If your gift is serving others, serve them
well. If you are a teacher, teach well. If your gift is to encourage others, be
encouraging. If it is giving, give generously. If God has given you leadership
ability, take the responsibility seriously. And if you have a gift for showing
kindness to others, do it gladly. Bless those who persecute you. Don’t curse
them; pray that God will bless them. Be
happy with those who are happy, and weep with those who weep. Live in harmony
with each other. Don’t be too proud to enjoy the company of ordinary people.
And don’t think you know it all! Never pay back evil with more evil. Do things
in such a way that everyone can see you are honorable. Do all that you can to live in peace with
everyone. Romans 11:6-18
We are given the gift to do for others what we want done for
us. We can give the gift of love, peace, joy, and yes, even grace through Jesus
Christ. When we take the chance and share the love of God with others by either
helping them with a project, or washing their car, or cooking a meal or two, or
maybe just picking up someone who can go to the food bank to pick up their own
food. A lot of people would rather feel like they were taking care of
themselves. During the trip out you can share the love of Jesus with them and
your testimony that can actually change a life. Amazing isn’t it?
Yesterday we talked a little about how believing in God will
allow us to do the work that He has sent us to do.
Today let’s try sharing the peace of God here on earth
toward God and men. If you can afford it, buy someone a meal or a cup of coffee
this week and give them a smile!
In His love,
