A Plea for Help - In His Word 1-14-2022

      A Reason to Pray – A Plea for Help

 Sometimes when we pray, we have a specific need or maybe we are worn out from a long work week. When we feel too tired, or rushed, or sad to pray, that is when we need it most. If you do not want to stop and pray today, do it anyway. Today we will pray for strength – help to complete the tasks at hand. Then we will thank God for answering our prayers.

To the Chief Musician. With stringed instruments.

On an eight-stringed harp. A Psalm of David.

O Lord, do not rebuke me in Your anger,
Nor chasten me in Your hot displeasure.
Have mercy on me, O Lord, for I am weak;
O Lord, heal me, for my bones are troubled.
My soul also is greatly troubled;
But You, O Lord—how long?

Return, O Lord, deliver me!
Oh, save me for Your mercies’ sake!
For in death there is no remembrance of You;
In the grave who will give You thanks?

I am weary with my groaning;
All night I make my bed swim;
I drench my couch with my tears.
My eye wastes away because of grief;
It grows old because of all my enemies.

Depart from me, all you workers of iniquity;
For the Lord has heard the voice of my weeping.
The Lord has heard my supplication;
The Lord will receive my prayer.
Let all my enemies be ashamed and greatly troubled;
Let them turn back and be ashamed suddenly.

Psalm 6

If you have time to write out verses 8 and 9 as part of your prayer notes, do so, if not thank the Lord for removing all who do evil, and for listening to your pleas. Speak it to the Lord. Remember if you do not feel comfortable speaking out loud just speak it in your heart. He will hear it.
