Stop and Be Ready! Advent 16 12-16-21

Advent 16 In His Word 12-16-21

It is hard to believe that we are so close to Christmas already! It seems as if time is shorter this year. I need to remind myself almost daily what I still have to accomplish!  Often during this month, I get overwhelmed with what is left to do. The Word of God tells us we are to live like it is our last, each day we should be living as if He was returning for us now!

However, no one knows the day or hour when these things will happen, not even the angels in heaven or the Son himself. Only the Father knows.

“When the Son of Man returns, it will be like it was in Noah’s day. 38 In those days before the flood, the people were enjoying banquets and parties and weddings right up to the time Noah entered his boat. 39 People didn’t realize what was going to happen until the flood came and swept them all away. That is the way it will be when the Son of Man comes. “Two men will be working together in the field; one will be taken, the other left. 41 Two women will be grinding flour at the mill; one will be taken, the other left. So, you too, must keep watch! For you don’t know what day your Lord is coming. Understand this: If a homeowner knew exactly when a burglar was coming, he would keep watch and not permit his house to be broken into. You also must be ready all the time, for the Son of Man will come when least expected. Matthew 24:36-44

We need to live a life now that pleases God not just look to doing it next year or next week or next time. God wants us to be focused on doing the Word, doing the will of God who has sent us to wherever we are at the moment to fulfill his purpose in all things. Stop for a moment and consider  your life and what or whom God has put in your path that may need help, or that can maybe help you out?

Seek God and follow His directions by what He has put in front of you.

Today’s challenge is to do just that~ Seek God to find out what you can do to live like today was your last~ Help a fellow soul today, In Jesus’ name…
