Adventures in Joy! 12-9-21

Peace on Earth, Joy to the World! There are a lot of sayings that are tossed about this time of year but the truth is still the truth that without God in your life that peace on earth is going to be pretty sketch.  Sometimes even if you do know God you make mistakes and slip up or as they used to say 'back slide' into the old ways you used to celebrate before you knew Christ. 

What we need to remember is we all have sinned and fallen short at some point in our lives and the good news is that awe have been made right with God when we accepted Him as our Lord. Because of our faith in Christ He has given us a way out of the troubles we are in and opens our eyes to His goodness. He gives us reason to rejoice in this season and always! 

Therefore, since we have been made right in God’s sight by faith, we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us. Because of our faith, Christ has brought us into this place of undeserved privilege where we now stand, and we confidently and joyfully look forward to sharing God’s glory. Romans 5:1-5

When we were utterly helpless, Christ came at just the right time and died for us sinners. Now, most people would not be willing to die for an upright person, though someone might perhaps be willing to die for a person who is especially good.  But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.  And since we have been made right in God’s sight by the blood of Christ, he will certainly save us from God’s condemnation.  For since our friendship with God was restored by the death of his Son while we were still his enemies, we will certainly be saved through the life of his Son. So now we can rejoice in our wonderful new relationship with God because our Lord Jesus Christ has made us friends of God. Romans 6-11

He comes into our lives just when we need Him and clears out our cluttered life and gives us freedom to be healed, to be forgiven, to be whole again!  We just need to be reminded of this now and then if we would just grab a hold of our faith and put it into action God has got the rest! Trust in the Lord and do good! Psalm 37 says it best; 

Trust in the Lord and do good.Then you will live safely in the land and prosper. Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you your heart’s desires. Commit everything you do to the Lord.    Trust him, and he will help you. Psalm 37:3-5

We don't need to spend a lot of money to be happy this holiday season we need to get right with God and then trust Him to do the rest! He will bring the joy, the peace, and the love!
