Wandering in His Word- 4-19-2021
But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed
the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of
Christ, he is not His and if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin,
but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. But if the Spirit of Him who
raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead
will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.
Therefore, brethren, we are debtors—not to the flesh, to live according to the
flesh. For if you live according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the
Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live. For those who
are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. The Spirit you received does not make you
slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought
about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.” Romans 8:9-15
For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Marvelous are Your works, and that my soul knows very well. Psalm 139:13-14
You are a child of God; you are humbly and marvelously made
in the image of the one True God. You are chosen by Him. You are loved by Him,
and He wants to direct your path. All of these we know, and we have talked about
for the past year or so that He loves us and wants what is best. He has chosen
to give us that do over, but He desires, wants, maybe even needs, us to trust Him
to work best in our lives.
The cords of death
entangled me, the anguish of the grave
came over me; I was overcome by distress and sorrow. Then I called on the name
of the Lord: “Lord, save me!” The Lord
is gracious and righteous; our God is full of compassion. Psalm 116:3- 5
Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God,
and everyone who loves Him who begot also loves him who is begotten of Him. By
this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and keep His commandments. For
this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments
are not burdensome. 1John 5:1-3
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not in your
own understanding in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your
path. Proverbs 3:5-6
He is directing us to follow His lead, not our own in our
lives today because we are His children. He has directed us in the way that we should
go, but are we following Him? Or are we doing like Ephraim in Hosea and trying
to figure it out for ourselves and ignoring what God is really telling us? He
is telling us to love one another, to live at peace with our brothers and
sisters and to not try to do it on our own. He wants us to be sure that we are
listening to our Father, and not just our friends. Friends can lead you astray
and get you to be wishy washy in your faith, but God wants us to be strong in
His power and His might. In that we must trust Him, obey His commands, and they
really are not that hard to follow.
Jesus tells us to love our brother as ourselves and to love
God!
He tells us what love is like as well in 1 Corinthians 13
remember?
Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but
have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. And though I
have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and
though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I
am nothing. And though I bestow all my
goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body [a]to be burned, but have not
love, it profits me nothing. 1 Corinthians 13:1-3
Sure, He can do all things, so He could work in our lives
and actually does, without our permission but I believe He works best when we
give Him access to our hearts and minds. When we read His Word, our Bibles, we
can get hope for tomorrow, we can find peace for today, and guidance in how to
behave in certain places in our lives.
He gives us a new heart, and new life, when we choose to
trust Him to do so.
In fact, He allows us to be called by His name, Christian.
We as Christians are of Christ, sort of like an American is ‘of America’ a
Canadian is ‘of Canada’. We need to act like we are of God. So may people today
are not following rules and claiming to be Christians.
We hear about it in the news daily the turmoil out there in the
world, the directives we are to follow in order to keep the peace, and yet we
choose to walk our own walk. We allow anger to direct our path instead of the
peaceful love of God. The word says to be angry and sin not. Too many people are choosing the first part
and ignoring the second.
Now I know that if I judge someone, I will be subject to the
same judgement as it says in the scripture but in this, I am glad! I do not want
to be found sinning in anger, or any other sin for that matter, so I live a
life that shows that I am at least trying to live a peace with everyone, that
follows His rules over all others which included praying for those in authority
over me, whoever they are.
So, if I love others as a child of God then I will be giving
them the respect, giving God the respect, and the joy of knowing I am doing
what He wants me to do.
As a child of God, I must behave as my Father wants me to. I must live my life
according to His direction, and guidance, and I must love others as He has
loved me today, and every day.
I am damaged goods that He has chosen to love, so why not
follow that example and love others as He has given us to do?
Let’s thank Him today for all He has brought us to, and
through… in Jesus’ name…
