He's Got This! In His Word 3-29-31

Do you sometimes feel like you are in a manic depressive state in your spiritual life?

He’s got this! In His Word

God has everything in control, you know this and yet there are times when you seem to forget who is in charge. You try to do things yourself and you do good but forget that He wants to have His way with your life too! So, you turn back to God and ask His advice, right? Or do you try to do it a different way? It can become frustrating trying to live with everyone else’s plans and not God’s. How do we even know what to do, where to go, and when? Do you feel a little manic depressive in your walk? You are up one day and down the next depending on how much time you took for His Word. There just is not enough time, but you want there to be, but there is just too much to do…

So, what do we do about this?

We dig into the Word, get reestablished in the Truth and focus on God… for a while... then we drift off into the world and do our own thing again.

This sounds so familiar because it is! It is what God’s people did by generation in the Bible! If you read through, Jeremiah Chapters 23-24  you can see it! The one generation obeys and follows God, the next forty years or so its good, blessings, winning wars, etc., then the next gen does not get it. They are not passed on the knowledge of God’s plan or something. They do not get to experience that closeness maybe? We need to be sure we get that info out people!

You could say, we are deep in the spirit one moment, all about doing what God says then the next we are tossed by the waves and thrown up on the sand, to be pulled back to the ocean, but God wants to toss us up on the Rock! That we would have foothold to stand and to be strong, firm, consistent!

Those rocks along the beach do not usually move without God’ power!  Sure the weather and waves wear at them now and then and they are reshaped, but God does that to us too!

He takes the rough edges and smooths us out, when we remember that He is in charge! We cannot do this life without Him. We cannot walk through the storms, the turmoil of people in the wind and waves without God. We must focus our walk on His purpose, or we will end up like Israel did back in the day. Put into bondage, prison, captured by cruel kings and other bad situations they got themselves in when they chose to worship the wrong gods. The purpose of God’s Word is for us to see and learn from their mistakes and from their victories and follow God’s direction and commands. What we need to do is take it and do it.

My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing. If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind.  For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways. James 1:2-8

Do not become caught up in the cares of this world. I know I must sound like a broken record but today alone I have heard bad news going on in cities that should be peaceful strong and whole. Chaos is out there but peace is within because God is in control. He is the light in the darkness, the light and our salvation, so whom shall we fear?

In God (I will praise His word),

In the Lord (I will praise His word), In God I have put my trust; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?  Vows made to You are binding upon me, O God; I will render praises to You, Psalm 56:10-11

So then, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath; for the wrath of man does not produce the righteousness of God. James 1:19-20

Do not be over come by evil but overcome evil with good. There will be people in the world who seem like they were set there just to make you stumble or make you angry enough to sin against God. Do not let them! Keep in mind James 1:19-20 and be slow to speak, slow to anger and swift to hear the Holy Spirit say, “Let it go”.

Let’s truly let go of the worries, the frustration, the fears, and the pain in our lives today. Let us give it up to God and leave it there that we would no longer bounce back and forth with the waves of worry and peace from God. Let’s just enjoy His presence a little while longer…it will be okay; God will make it so.

Trust God to stretch your day hours when you put your Trust in Him, your focus on His Word, and follow His steps. Make Jesus your priority!

In Jesus name,
