He knows me... In His Word~ 1-29-2021

You know me...In His Word 1-29-2021

If I ride the wings of the morning, if I dwell by the farthest oceans, even there your hand will guide me,    and your strength will support me.  I could ask the darkness to hide me and the light around me to become night—but even in darkness I cannot hide from you. To you the night shines as bright as day.    Darkness and light are the same to you. You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb.  Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it. Psalm 139:9-14

Reading in Psalm 139 today I realized just how much detail God has put in not only His Word but in our lives. Each of our lives are formed and detailed in the beginning of our existence. Our personalities are formed and created to fit the life He has planned for us. Our part is to notice it and walk in the right choices.  I do not believe God chooses for an addict to become and addict, I believe He works with it to bring people to a place where He can mold them back to what He wanted.

It truly is like the potter and the clay. You begin with a lump, you craft it to what you think it will be, but sometimes you just have to take it off the Wheel and rebuild it. Sometimes you start spinning it you put the water drizzles over it and stick your thumb in there to shape it, but it wobbles and falls off the wheel, or just twists because there is not enough water on it and its too dry. I have a small vase I made in High School that was supposed to be large and beautiful, but it twisted weirdly staying thick and tight. I stopped the wheel to pull it off and trash it but decided it was okay that way and that I could use it!

Sometimes when things go off kilter, God can find a way to use us anyway. This past year is a great example of that! For nearly a year we have been either completely or partially shut down in life outside our homes. Now I know for many that is a danger zone and can be a problem for families with issues because they feel they cannot go out to even find the help they need. God has still be accessible, but not all children and even some adults really have heard about God yet in their lives. Amazing as that seems in a world with internet and media access and a Bible in every hotel room, many people do not yet know there is a God to cry out to. Many people do not know that He formed them in their mother’s womb. Many people are damaged, or just think they are. But God wants to fix that! He wants to take their lives and remodel them. Reshape them. Reorganize or restructure them and make them the people He wanted for them to be.

You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb.  You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. very moment was laid out before a single day had passed. Psalm 139:14-15

Well, you ask, how do they do that if they do not know that He exists?

That is where we come in! We know we have this great God who fashioned our lives and theirs. We have His love within our hearts and minds. We know that He has given us the Holy Spirit to dwell with us and keep us and teach us. So our part is to share that all! Every bit of what we know about God, and how He helps us in our lives is essential! When your car did not get dented when a truck bumped you not just once but twice!  When you drove your car home after two accidents and ended up with a good deal on insurance payments. When you ran out of food and a stranger stuck a bag of groceries on your front door, not even knowing that you needed it as badly as you did!  When you got an A on an exam that you thought you would fail because life got in the way of doing the study you needed. When you ran out of oil for your stove that heated your house and someone, the very same day that you realized you would not be able to pay for more, called out to you to see if you wanted a free woodstove to replace it because someone that they knew was discarding it! When your car did not run out of gas.  When you took a wrong turn and ended up avoiding a major pile up on the route you would have been on.

Each of these are small insignificant things but they are acts of God and His presence in your life! Some people say that coincidence is God working anonymously. Tell someone about it!

After sharing, then what? Share the Love! Be the person who drops off the groceries! Be the person who offers to babysit for the mom who is stressed out trying to work from home and do schoolwork. Be the person who is Jesus to the ones who will not go looking for Him. There is a song that say’s “you are the only Jesus some may ever see”, be that Jesus!  What would Jesus do? Take it on! Don’t just talk about the people who need food, provide a way for them to get it!

I have a friend who gathers things to give out to the needy. She gathers, gets together with others and bags up things that we don’t even think about like soap, shampoo, things to brush your teeth, and wash your face with. She delivers them to the ones on the street.  She doesn’t just think about it or talk about it she does it! She amazes me all that she does for the Lord, as a servant to those in need. He life has not always gone the way she wanted, but she did not allow that to stop her from doing good for others, in Jesus’ name.

Maybe you cannot get out there to give it to them but you can find someone like my friend and give them the supplies so they can. The point is there is a way to get Jesus out there to people. Give to the hungry, the needy, the downcast, the shut in. We are told this in the Word to take care of the widows and fatherless. Just do it in a way you can today! Be Jesus to someone today.

He formed you with a purpose. Find out what it is and use it for His glory!

The Lord gave another message to Jeremiah. He said, “Go down to the potter’s shop, and I will speak to you there.” So I did as he told me and found the potter working at his wheel. But the jar he was making did not turn out as he had hoped, so he crushed it into a lump of clay again and started over.              Then the Lord gave me this message: “O Israel, can I not do to you as this potter has done to his clay? As the clay is in the potter’s hand, so are you in my hand. If I announce that a certain nation or kingdom is to be uprooted, torn down, and destroyed, but then that nation renounces its evil ways, I will not destroy it as I had planned.  And if I announce that I will plant and build up a certain nation or kingdom, but then that nation turns to evil and refuses to obey me, I will not bless it as I said I would. “Therefore, Jeremiah, go and warn all Judah and Jerusalem. Say to them, ‘This is what the Lord says: I am planning disaster for you instead of good. So, turn from your evil ways, each of you, and do what is right.’”

But the people replied, “Don’t waste your breath. We will continue to live as we want to, stubbornly following our own evil desires.” Jeremiah 18:1-11

Don’t be like those people in Jeremiah, today choose to make the right choice, do the right thing. Allow God to reform your life it needed, as needed, then walk in the purpose and promise He gives to you in His Word.

Heavenly Father help us to do Your will in our lives. Give us the directions and nudge us on the straight path to follow You. Help us to share You with those around us to share even the little things You have done that they may also walk with You in Jesus’ name, amen.
