As we look ahead to the new year before us this old post reminded me to seek God and look for His direction as we walk in His Word today in 2021... enjoy!
In His
Word- 10-25-10
How do
you know when it is time to go on? Or how do maybe time to step into another
level or a deeper walk with Christ; how do you know it’s time?
“Therefore, King Agrippa, I was not
disobedient to the heavenly vision, but declared first to
those in Damascus and in Jerusalem, and throughout all the region of Judea, and then to the Gentiles, that
they should repent, turn to God, and do works befitting repentance.
Acts
26:19-20
Saul, a learned man who tried hard to do
what he thought was right was given the chance to change what he was actually
doing wrong.
Jesus Himself stopped Saul on the road
to
He had a pretty clear direction there
that it was time to change. God even changed his name to Paul to clarify that
he was now a changed man. Paul took that zeal he had used as a Pharisee and put
it into sharing the Gospel even when it meant remaining under arrest for a
longer time. His birthright made it possible for him be released but he chose
to remain to dot he will of the Lord and share Christ with Agrippa.
Then Agrippa said to Paul, “You almost persuade me to become a
Christian.” And Paul said, “I would to God that not only you, but also all who
hear me today, might become both almost and altogether such as I am, except for
these chains.” When he had said these things, the king stood up, as well as the
governor and Bernice and those who sat with them; and when they had
gone aside, they talked among themselves, saying, “This man is doing nothing
deserving of death or chains.” Then Agrippa said to
Festus, “This man might have been set free if he had not appealed to Caesar.” Acts 26: 28-32
Unfortunately
God doesn’t always blind us so that we can see, like He did with Paul, but then
again sometimes He does show us what to do but we are not paying attention and
so do not realize it.
Have you
ever been afraid to do what God said?
You know
what I mean; He tells you to step out in faith and let go of that ‘thing’ that
is bugging you, causing you stress etc you go back and forth with Him in prayer
asking “Lord are you sure?” Just the same Gideon did when He called him a ‘Mighty
Man of Valor’. Gideon was a powerful man just hiding inside an insecure body.
So are many of us until God gets hold of us. He can take a wimp like Gideon,
one who threshed wheat for the enemy instead of feeding his own people with it.
Who allowed himself to be bullied into doing whatever he could do for the enemy
to stay away from being killed, or beaten; and change him into the man God saw
him to be in the first place.
God
wants to do that with us today! He wants to take the person who thinks no one
cares what they say and create in them powerful speaker ministry. He wants to
take the person who thinks they are dumb and turn them into a Bible Scholar. He
wants to take the person who thinks they ‘can’t sing’ and give them the voice
of an angel.
Saul was
looking at things through human eyes and God wanted him to look at things
through the Holy Spirit. Gideon was looking at things from his own perspective
and God wanted him to get a ‘Godly Perspective’.
When God gives us something to get rid of, to
move away from or move to we need to accept these things and move on it. We
need to be blind to our personal abilities and know that with God all things
are possible if we only believe!
But Jesus looked at them and said, “With men it is impossible, but not
with God; for with God all things are possible.” Mark
10:27
We need to remember too that God’s will
is the most important thing, not ours. When we trade our wants, our desires for
His, like Jesus did in the garden then we will find it is easier to do what we
are told.
And He said, “Abba, Father, all things are possible for You.
Take this cup away from Me; nevertheless, not what I will, but what You will.” Mark
14:36
Let’s step out in faith believing today
and do that ‘thing’ in our lives that we know He told us to do!
Dear Heavenly Father, help us to listen
to your voice and see your vision for us. Then help us to do what you said and
walk in what you have shown us no matter what other people thing, say or do. In
Jesus name. Amen.

***If for any reason you
choose ever not to receive this devotion again please remember that all it
takes is replying with a "Please remove me from this list." I do ask
that if there is a problem with anything I write for you to feel free to write
me back and let me know what the problem was, that we might go over it together
and seek the truth in love.
