What is the Point? In His
Word
I want you to know that God
has it all in control, but at the same time I see the things going on and
wonder to myself, ‘how can I explain the peace I feel in a world full of
turmoil?’
We read in Ecclesiastes 3 that everything has a season, and reason, and a specific purpose under the heavens. As I read through the following passage I can
literally see them being ticked off these recent days…
To everything there is a
season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: a time to be born, and a
time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; a
time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;
a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; a
time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to
embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; a time to get, and a time to
lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; a time to rend, and a time to
sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; a time to love, and a time to
hate; a time of war, and a time of peace. Ecclesiastes 3:1-7
We are seeing so many things
go wrong in the world but there is a reason for it! God knows that reason and
if we stop and listen to His Word, and in our prayers, even in the night hours
when we struggle to sleep; God will show us the purpose in it all.
God is waiting. He wants us
all to draw near to Him that He may draw near to us. We hear preachers tell us
that He wants to speak to our hearts and minds but we need to be listening. The
things in the world are so easily snaring us all, fear grips, worry struggles
to let go, and yet God says I gave you peace my child!
But the Helper will teach you
everything and will cause you to remember all that I told you. This Helper is
the Holy Spirit whom the Father will send in my name. “I leave you peace; my
peace I give you. I do not give it to you as the world does. So don’t let your
hearts be troubled or afraid. 28 You heard me say to you, ‘I am going, but I am
coming back to you.’ If you loved me, you should be happy that I am going back
to the Father, because he is greater than I am. John 14: 26-28
Our God has it all in
control, He gave us peace to remain with us, even while He is not walking the earth,
we have the Holy Spirit to give us peace. He is here, if you are a believer, He
has remained with you through it all and is waiting for you to seek Him. So,
stop worrying! Stop concerning yourselves with the cares of this world. Just
trust Him, live life, one step at a time waking in His path. Follow where God
leads you each day, each moment and you will keep the peace in your heart; the
world will be full of turmoil, but He has overcome the world! We need but look
in our hearts and in the Word of God to see what we need to focus on.
We need to humble ourselves
in prayer. (2 Chronicles 7:14) Then He will heal our land. Humble means; having
or showing a modest or low estimate of one's own importance. This is not all
about me or you! This whole scene we are living in, playing a roll in life
itself, is about God’s purpose. Share the Gospel, the Good News, with others
around you. Give them hope in troubled times reminding them that God has taken His
people through worse times than this! Not just in the Bible times but even in
some of our life times we have seen people of God taken through many horrible trials
and yet each time they stand strong, even stronger for Christ and the Gospel as
we are told to teach and to preach it! He said we would walk through the fire
and He would be there, and to not be afraid! ( Isaiah 43:1-3) That does not mean
you should walk into the fire, just to prove it but to know that you will be
okay through this time of trials as long as you keep trusting Him to bring you
through. We need to give God the glory He deserves, not man, not science, not
the doctors, though God is using them. Give God the glory for those who live,
praise Him for all He is doing to make ends meet today.
God is our hope in a time of terrible
things, just as He is our hope in times of rejoicing. He has not changed but
has a plan to bring us to where we need to be.
I pray that the God who gives hope will fill
you with much joy and peace while you trust in him. Then your hope will
overflow by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13
Sometimes it may seem like
this will last forever but Jesus said, not to worry, trust God because He has
overcome the world!
So when you get that doubtful
feeling, when fear tries to grab your heart and squeeze it until tears come
flowing down your face in rivers; put your trust in God and remember He is your
peace. He has already broken down the walls and wants you to keep the walls to
your heart open to Him that He may not only heal the land but heal your hurt,
take away your fear and give you that continual peace! Remind yourself of His goodness daily, play
Godly music that reminds you of His peace, His love and the hope He has placed
in His Word.
He has a plan, if we continue
in the plan and do not waver left or right for fear or trembling, we will see
the peaceful sunrise and sunset at the end of the day. Give God your fears
today.
Write down the scriptures you
need to remind you, you can search for them in your concordance, either on your
digital device or paper Bible by topic. Look up peace, hope, joy. And write down the scriptures somewhere where
you will see them daily as often as you need to! Even on your bathroom mirror
with a dry erase marker works! The more
scripture you put into your mind today and focus on that, throughout the day as
trouble comes you will have peace.
Trust God to know what to
give you to get you through this time. Follow the path of peace, in His Word.
What is the point? To find
peace, hope, and love in the Word, and in His presence so that we may share
that with the lost and dying in the world, that they too may have peace and
have it more abundantly! In Jesus’ name!
These things I have spoken to
you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but
be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” John 16:33
Heavenly Father, thank you for the peace that
passes understanding. Thank you that even though there is craziness and fearful
situations going on in our land that we can focus on You, remind us of Your
Word and keep us strong in our resolve to have hope that in the end of it all
there is still Your peace. Help us to share that with others, In Jesus’ name,
amen
