Dailies ~ In His Word
August 20, 2019
For so many years of my life I
thought that I had to be good to get saved. I thought that I had to be perfect
first; I was so wrong! I mean, if Jesus Himself does not take the glory for
what He did or us, but did it as the will of the Father God, well, how can I
begin to think I could be perfect enough to be acceptable unto Him?
Wonder not at this; for the hour
cometh, wherein all that are in the graves shall hear the voice of the Son of
God. And they
that have done good things, shall come forth unto the resurrection of life; but
they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of judgment. I cannot of myself do any thing. As I hear, so I judge: and
my judgment is just; because I seek not my own will, but the will of him that
sent me. If I bear
witness of myself, my witness is not true. There is another that beareth witness of me; and I know
that the witness which he witnesseth of me is true. You sent to John, and he gave testimony to the truth.
But I receive not testimony from man: but I say these
things, that you may be saved. John 5:29-34
But he said: The God of our
fathers hath preordained thee that thou should know his will, and see the Just
One, and should hear the voice from his mouth. For thou shalt be
his witness to all men, of those things which thou hast seen and heard.
Acts 22:14-15
So what do we do? We
read the witness of Jesus Christ, and His disciples of what we must then do to
be saved. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and be saved you and your household…
It was told to one man. I felt this burn upon my heart and have lived it out
ever since. I believe that Jesus died for me rose again the third day and took
away the fear and sting of death… I believe He was the perfect sacrifice that
we do not any longer need to follow the details laid out in the law, because he
fulfilled it completely.**
Does that mean I can do
what I want? Maybe, but it also means that what I want is to do the will of the
Father, just as Christ Jesus did. His
will becomes our will when we put our love, and our trust, and our thoughts and
our strength in His hands.
Heavenly Father, I ask
that you help me to do as the Lord Jesus said--not my will but Yours be done in
my life and those I love, in Jesus’ name, amen.
