Does He know you?
Most people ask if you know Jesus, but I want to think today on the question; does Jesus know me? Am I one who heard and did what Jesus directed me to do?
Did I love my mother and father and honor them? Did I love only the One True God?
Did I love my neighbor as my self? Did I minister to the widow and orphans?
Did I listen for His still small voice and do as it said?
Did He call my name?

“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’  “Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock:  and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock.
“But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall.”  And so it was, when Jesus had ended these sayings, that the people were astonished at His teaching, for He taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes. Matthew 7:20-28
When you speak or teach the Word of God to someone do you sound as if you have an authority? Can we stand tall in a storm or do we get tossed with every wind and wave?
I like to think I could say I stand, but sometimes the waves will crash in, and I feel as if I am sinking in the sand. At those times I find myself calling out to Jesus who catches me and pulls me up to solid ground. That is where my life is built on the Solid Rock that is Jesus Christ.
One more question… did you hear Him?
Heavenly Father, thank you for calling us to Your path and plans for our lives. Help us to have eyes to see and ears to hear and feet to follow Jesus every day, no matter what. In Jesus’ name, amen.
