Dailies ~in His
Word
June 3, 2019
You worship what you do not know; we
know what we worship, for salvation is of the Jews. But the hour is coming, and
now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father
is seeking such to worship Him. God is Spirit, and those who
worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”
John
4:22-24
Do
you know who you are worshiping? Or why you worship Him?
Sometimes
we have to remember that the important thing is not what we eat, or what we
wear when we worship God but that we indeed worship Him in spirit and in
truth.
So don’t let anyone condemn you for what you eat or drink, or
for not celebrating certain holy days or new moon ceremonies or Sabbaths. For these rules
are only shadows of the reality yet to come. And Christ himself is that
reality. Don’t let anyone condemn you by
insisting on pious self-denial or the worship of angels, saying they have had
visions about these things. Their sinful minds have made them proud, and they are not connected to Christ, the head of the body.
For he holds the whole body together with its joints and ligaments, and it
grows as God nourishes it. Colossians 2:16-19
To many times we find that the worshiping of God becomes a
thing we just do, we go to worship at our church. We sing worship songs, but do
we spend time worshiping Him in Spirit? Or do we just worship Him in song? Do
we just worship Him because its what we do?
Take a Selah moment on that one. Stop and think about it.
Who do we worship? Jesus, God, The King of Kings, Lord, etc.
Why do you worship? We worship Him because God’s Word
instructs us to worship Him in Spirit and in truth.
How do you worship? By obeying His commands to love one
another, by honoring Him in all that we do in our lives every day, and yes,
also by singing praises to Him, thanking Him for being who He is. Its not about
how we sit or stand but it is about our heart connecting and letting Jesus, God
the Father know that we love Him, we honor Him and we thank Him, via the Holy
Spirit. The truth is that we love, honor and obey Him and the spirit is the
connection that brings us together with Him.
Stop and think about the connection to God when you worship
Him, whether in song, or in word, or in deed.
Heavenly Father, we worship You, we thank You for being You
for You are our God, we give You praise and honor and glory. Lord, help us live
our life that worships you with our actions today, in Jesus’ name, amen.
