Dailies ~in His Word
June 8, 2019
Are you patiently waiting for someone to complete a task so
that you can move ahead with yours? I have to say this scripture chided me
today! I am so guilty of complaining to God about people not getting things
done fast enough, and I am often the one slowing those same people down!
Sometimes we have to wait on the Lord, sometimes we have to
wait for the person in front of us at the grocery store; whatever we are
waiting for we need to do it patiently. What about when the waiting really is
the hardest part like the 70’s song said? That’s what I think rings true with
the Lord coming back. We have to continue the work, like the farmer who waits
for the fruit of the earth we need to be busy keeping the weeds at bay and
watering the seeds till they are strong and full and ready for harvest!
Even if someone is in front of us, we can work at getting
the back ground work done and be ready to reach for that next thing to walk in.
We can prepare the way just as Jesus prepares the way for us.
Therefore be patient, brethren, until the coming of the
Lord. See how the farmer waits for
the precious fruit of the earth, waiting patiently for it until it receives the
early and latter rain. You also be patient. Establish your hearts, for the coming
of the Lord is at hand.
Do not grumble against one another, brethren, lest you be condemned.
Behold, the Judge is standing at the door! My brethren, take the prophets, who spoke in the name of
the Lord, as an example of suffering and patience. Indeed we count them blessed
who endure. You have heard of the perseverance of Job and seen the
end intended by the Lord—that the
Lord is very compassionate and merciful. James 5:7-11
Don’t blame someone else for you not getting a project
completed, know that sometimes things happen slower than others! God is great
and His timing is different than ours all together, so, for example; don’t put
the presser on your coworker to get it done faster but encourage them to take
an extra step toward completion if it helps! Be blessed not stressed! Endure!
You and God have got this!
Heavenly Father, help me be patient and be blessed not
stressed! In Jesus’ name, amen.
