Dailies~ In His
Word
May 2019
Do you glow in the dark?
Does the light in you shine before men?
Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lamp stand,
and it gives light to all who are in
the house. Let your light so
shine before men, that they may
see your good works and glorify your
Father in heaven. Mathew 5:14-16
Let’s face it the world we live in is getting darker and
darker. There are reports of murders, suicides and our right terrorist attacks
almost daily in the news. Even in the suburbs we hear sirens consistently daily.
What a better time is it for us to shine the Light of the
world to those around us?
Today I saw an ad for glow in the dark play doh and it made
me think in these things. Playdoh is playable, and pliable! You can change it shape and texture even. If
you leave it out in the sun it will dry and you will see the salt on the
outside separate itself. It dries up and cracks and is no longer good for
anything.
We as Christians need to keep our salt salty, not let our
faith dry up but to share it with others, just as playdoh needs to be used to
stay fresh and useful so do we. If we are only gong to church and coming home
but are not using our gifts, or our skills for Jesus and sharing the love of
God with others then we are like dried up playdoh.
I don’t know about you but I want to be glow in the dark
playdoh! I want to be a light in the darkness in this world and help people
around me to know the Love of Jesus!
But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day
should overtake you as a thief. You are all sons of light and sons of
the day. We are not of the night nor of darkness. Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober.
1 Thessalonians 5:4-6
Think for a bit today; are you fresh and used by God? If not
then ask Him to take you out of the container and use you! Seek the Lord, share
the word and His love and you will remain useful.
Heavenly Father, take us out of our self contained world and
use us to glow I the darkness that more people will hear and know that You are
Lord of all! In Jesus name, amen.
