Dailies ~in His love
May 4, 2019

How many times have I heard this read or read it and not connected the two chapters?
We are all one body, the Body of Christ and if one of our members, that is not the member of our immediate church, but one of the members of the world wide body, suffers we all suffer.  When we hear of someone taking ill do we pray for them to be healed? Is it our place, or our part in the body to do so?  If this is a gift we have been given then yes! It is written that we are not all preachers, or teachers or prophets,  or people who have gifts in healings, or helps or administrations etc. Oh wait, let’s not forget not all have the gift of speaking in varieties of tongues. Many forget that one. We are not meant to all be the same. God has chosen each of us for a different part in the Body of Christ, or in the Church itself.  As members of what is also referred to as the family of God we each are individually used in the perfect way that God has chosen for us to be used. We should not be made to become what God has not encouraged us to be nor should we be afraid to become who He has called us to become.  Moreover, we should do one thing as an “everyone gets this” thing and that is love. Love is the greatest gift! If we truly want to be like Jesus, and fulfill our callings then we need to love one another just like Jesus did, does, and will do!

And if one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; or if one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it.  Now you are the body of Christ, and members individually. And God has appointed these in the church: first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, administrations, varieties of tongues. Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Are all workers of miracles? Do all have gifts of healings? Do all speak with tongues? Do all interpret? But earnestly desire the best gifts. And yet I show you a more excellent way.1 Corinthians 12:26-31
Why do we want to do it all? We are not God, but we are human and can only do so much. Let’s seek God to find what He has given to each of us as our gift.
And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love. 1 Corinthians 13:13
Live with faith, and hope, but more than that live with love for one another, those around us. Share God’s love with those in your life and also the strangers who you come in contact with today.  Be blessed as you bless!
Heavenly Father, thank you for the gift of love. Thank you that You have given us each the gifts that help us to fulfill our callings, and Lord help us to do Your will in all we do. In Jesus name, amen.
