Dailies- In His Word

But He said, “More than that, blessed are those
who hear the word of God and keep it!” Luke 11:28
This was not the scripture
I was looking for this morning but it came up in a search and I thought about
it for a few minutes. Blessed are those who hear the word of God and keep it.
It made me wonder about how a person could really hear the word of God and not
keep it in their heart? But that I not all this is talking about.
To keep His commands is to
keep His Word. To hide it in our hearts is also keeping it. The thing is God’s
Word I so powerful, so enlightening so encouraging that you don’t want to keep
it to yourself so we know that is not what it means! After a a few more verses
down and it tells us not to hide the light!
They go together; you have to have the Word in your life in
order to have the light! Because of course He is the light, and when we know
the Word then we want to share it. Our job is to keep it and share it
No one, when he has lit a
lamp, puts it in a secret place
or under a
basket, but on a lamp stand, that those who come in may see light. The lamp of the body is the eye. Therefore, when your
eye is good, your whole body also is full of light. But when your eye is bad, your body also is full of darkness. Therefore take heed that the light which is in
you is not darkness. If then your whole body is full
of light, having no part dark, the whole body will be full of light, as
when the bright shining of a lamp gives you light.” Luke 11:33-36
When we know the Word, we
live it, or as they say “do the Word” by applying it to our lives. When we do
we will feel like sharing it!
Heavenly Father, help us to
live your Word by applying it to our lives today, help us to share it with
those who need you each day! In Jesus’ name, amen
