Dailies~ in His
Word
March 2019
Sometimes we think we are
not ready for something and yet God drops it on our laps for us to handle
anyway. It’s kind of funny in retrospect but when I first started teaching
Sunday School it happened that way. I
was sitting in church and a guest speaker was preaching about being used by
God; being ready to be used. I felt so ‘convicted’ or ‘encouraged’ that I was
supposed to be doing this but I did not think I was ready yet. I had only been
in church for one year, and saved one year before that! Who was I to teach
little kids about the Bible?
For though by this time you ought to be teachers,
you need someone to teach you again
the first principles of the oracles of God; and you have come to need milk
and not solid food. For everyone who
partakes only of milk is unskilled in the word of
righteousness, for he is a babe. But solid
food belongs to those who are of full age, that
is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to
discern both good and evil. Hebrews 12:12-14
I prayed a fleece prayer asking God to have the
person in charge ask me before I left the building if He wanted me to teach.
I had been learning the principles of God, and
needed that younger level of learning about Him and His Word. As I rushed to
leave the church before the Superintendent of Sunday School caught me and asked
me to teach; she stepped into the side doorway I was trying to escape through.
“Are you ready to teach Sunday School?” she
asked.
I nervously answered knowing God had played my
hand and I had to take it. ”I guess so!” I love it when God tells us go when we
think we are not yet ready!
What are you waiting on God for thinking you are
not ready yet?
Ask Him to show you reality!
Heavenly Father, we thank You that You know us
better than we know ourselves and we ask that You direct us to the ministry or
mission that You want for us. Help us to overcome our self in Jesus name, amen.
