Dailies ~in His Word

Jesus
started out his ministry when he was baptized. From there he went to be tempted
by the devil, ministered to by the angels and then began picking his team. He
took them on a retreat and then began sending them out!
Reading in
Matthew 6 this morning I thought about how lined up that was! In Chapter 3 He
gets baptized, in 4 He began his Galilean ministry after being tempted by the
devil sending him way and being taken care of by angels. All of which is prophecy
fulfilled stuff. Then He starts picking and training the team on a mountain. He
drew them into His presence with instruction about how things should be. He
goes on to teach them to pray. Session after session it seems when I read it,
Jesus shows us the first ministry group retreat when he does the sermon on the
mountain.
And seeing the multitudes, He went up on a mountain,
and when He was seated His disciples came to Him. Then He opened His mouth and taught them, saying:
“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the
kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those
who mourn, for they shall be comforted.
Blessed are the
meek, for they shall
inherit the earth.
Blessed are those
who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they
shall be filled. Blessed are the
merciful, for they shall obtain mercy. Blessed are the
pure in heart, for they shall see
God. Blessed are the peacemakers, for
they shall be called sons of God. Blessed are those who are persecuted for
righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. Rejoice and be
exceedingly glad, for great is your
reward in heaven, for so they
persecuted the prophets who were before you.”
Heavenly Father, Help us to follow
your direction, your example and draw together in learning situations that we
may be like You. In Jesus name, Amen
