Day 23
Chapter 11 of Hebrews
is often called the ‘faith chapter’. The reason is that it quotes the stories
of so many men and women in the Old Testament that walked by faith. Faith is
believing that something is so even before we see it. The people of Moses’ day
believed a deliverer would come and take them out of Egypt, even before Moses
grew up and did so with God’s direction.
Faith
shows the reality of what we hope for; it is the evidence of things we cannot
see. Through their faith, the people in days of old
earned a good reputation. Hebrews 11:1-2
Therefore we also,
since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside
every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let
us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that
was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has
sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Hebrews 12:1-2
If the people of the
Bible, the Word of God, can walk in faith through fires, and droughts, and
wars, and even through the desert waiting for God to provide His promises, then
so can we.
We need to tell
someone today what Jesus has done for us and what He can do for them too. Tell
someone about your faith in God to provide for you each day, to give you food,
clothing and everything you have need of. Tell them either with words or in
deed.
You faith is seen in
your fruit, the fruit is the thing that you do that shows other people that
Jesus is in you.
Make the people around
you see what you have, and want it too today!
Heavenly Father, thank
you for Your Love, Hope and Faith in me to believe in You. Help me to share it
with those around me each day. In Jesus’ name
Amen.
