Dailies – In His Word 2019
Day 12
What is
the desire of your heart today my friend? Do you know? Some people think it is
to get rich, or to be lazy and not have to work. I believe if we dig deeper
into our own heart we will find the true desire we mostly have is to be loved
by someone, and to have peace with God and man.
What
about the other things, the direction from God to fulfill the calling He has
given us? What about the desire to prosper in all that we put our hands to? How
do we know when to believe for what?
Peace
be still; God knows our hearts, He wants us to trust Him to know how to fulfill
the desires of our heart.
The Lord is righteous
in all His ways, gracious in all His works. The Lord is near
to all who call upon Him, to all who call upon Him in truth.
He will fulfill the desire of those who fear Him; He also will
hear their cry and save them.Th e Lord preserves all who love Him, but
all the wicked He will destroy. My mouth shall speak the praise of the Lord, and all flesh shall bless His
holy name forever and ever. Psalm 145
Trust in the Lord, and do good; dwell in the
land, and feed on His faithfulness. Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He shall give you the
desires of your heart. Commit your
way to the Lord, trust also in Him, and
He shall bring it to pass.
Psalm 37:3-6
When we
look at these scriptures we can see that God places the desires in our hearts
that are pure, and acceptable in His sight. Any desires that are selfish and
foolish are not going to be of God. We want to have right standing with Him to
have the ‘good things’ in life. Well the good things are walking right with
God, and doing the things He has put before us with a clean heart knowing that
we are doing what we are called to do.
Maybe
you are called to teach, or preach or maybe you are called to make the coffee for
the preacher at this time and God wants you to put as much energy into that as
you would into preparing to preach. Whatever God desires for you to do should
be the desire of your heart, right? Sure, but sometimes He gives us a desire
that seems out of reach and extravagant; that is when we need to trust God to
bring what He has given us in a dream or a vision or even just a thought that
burned in our hearts and minds as a “God thing”… He knows our heart, He knows
our desires, and He wants us to rejoice in His goodness. It stands to show that
if we put our trust in Him He will bring it to us. Let’s trust Him to take the
desires of our hearts and make them tangible! In Jesus name!
Lord
God, thank you for giving us the desires of our heart. Help us to trust You
with them and watch as you walk us through to them. In Jesus name, amen.
