Day 15
Do you behave like you are supposed to all the
time?
I know I do not. I fall short of being like God
at least once daily I am sure, but I strive to be more like Him because He
loves me. Because He loves me I can be like Him in His eyes as I continue to
desire in my heart to imitate Him in everything I do. Not every wrong thing we
do is sin but we should know the difference if we have Christ in our hearts,
for the Holy Spirit will bear witness when it is wrong in God’s eyes and we
will need to sit up and take notice.
Imitate God, therefore, in everything you do,
because you are his dear children. Live a life filled with love,
following the example of Christ. He loved us and offered himself as a
sacrifice for us, a pleasing aroma to God. Ephesians 5:1-2
It is peppered through out the 5th chapter
of Ephesians, if you have time to read it all today but God gives us
instruction through His Word how to avoid sin, and to avoid the people who draw
us into sin by excusing them as and okay thing. It is not okay to sin, but with
repentance we can be forgiven of our sins and God will fill us with light.
Don’t be fooled by those who try to excuse these sins, for the
anger of God will fall on all who disobey him. Don’t
participate in the things these people do. For once you were full of darkness, but now you have light
from the Lord. So live as people of light! For this light within you produces only what is good and
right and true. Carefully
determine what pleases the Lord. Ephesians 5:6-10
Do your best to do what God wants you to do. He will know the
difference between an “okay I will do it cause if I don’t so and do will be mad
at me” and an “okay I will do it because its what God desires and I love Him wind
wish to please Him.” The thing to see in this is that when you love someone you
want to please them, God desires to please us and He desires for us to love Him
back enough to please Him with all of our hearts. When we love one another we
do this. Be nice to others out of the Love of God, if for no other reason.
Heavenly Father, thank You for loving us so much. Help us to share
that love with others around us by doing what is right in Your eyes, and not
just to please other people. Let our motives be pure before You. In Jesus name,
amen.
