What do you know? In His Word 11-26-18

What do you know? In His Word 11/26/18

Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth! Psalm 46:10

Reading the Bible daily I have learned that there is so much that I do not know in His Word. Every year for nearly five years I read through the Bible with my friends at church and yet I have found that I still missed so much a I study through the scriptures. As 2018 began I decided to take the time to follow ‘Rabbit Trails’ through my notes in my study Bible. Not just the notes that are there from the publisher but the ones that I left for myself via highlighting in different colors. I would follow from verse to verse check the scripture references that went with them. You can study for a long or short time doing this depending on how much you want to eat or drink in the Word of God. Over all the best things I have found is that you can really get to know the people in the Word. You can really get to know God through His Word.
And people should eat and drink and enjoy the fruits of their labor, for these are gifts from God.  And I know that whatever God does is final. Nothing can be added to it or taken from it. God’s purpose is that people should fear him. What is happening now has happened before, and what will happen in the future has happened before, because God makes the same things happen over and over again. Ecclesiastes 3:13-16
His Word tells us a lot about how to not have fear, to have hope, and whom to have hope in. He gives us so much knowledge about how to live our lives that if we really get what we read and meditate on it, we will find a lot of good information and not have a lot of problems in life. Our God tells us in the Bible that we just need to obey and follow His advice to get things right. Sure its not always easy but then it wasn’t so easy for Him either! If God had to make sacrifices then why not us?
He himself is the sacrifice that atones for our sins—and not only our sins but the sins of all the world.  And we can be sure that we know him if we obey his commandments.  If someone claims, “I know God,” but doesn’t obey God’s commandments, that person is a liar and is not living in the truth. But whoever keeps His Word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him. 1 John 2:1-5
He has put th Word together for us to read and obey. HE wanted us to have a directional path to follow and this gives us a guide book.
He wrote the words in the Bible for you!

I write to you, little children,
Because your sins are forgiven you for His name’s sake.
I write to you, fathers,
Because you have known Him who is from the beginning.
I write to you, young men,
Because you have overcome the wicked one.
I write to you, little children,
Because you have known the Father.
I have written to you, fathers,
Because you have known Him who is from the beginning.
I have written to you, young men,
Because you are strong, and the word of God abides in you,
And you have overcome the wicked one. 1 John 2:12-14

It’s kind of cool, the more we read the Word, the more we know God, the more we know God, the more we know where to walk and what to do in our lives. We can find help to choosing the right things, instead of the wrong things.

No matter how much we read we always need to read more though, its like the more we know the more we know there I more to know…you know?
I for one want to keep studying to show myself approved as well as to know God and His people more and more. When I know more of the things that happen in the Word, then I can know better what to do when things go haywire, which they always do. This is life after all and life is not perfect, not even for those who look perfect on the outside!

You can read the book of Esther to see all the things going on in her life that
on the outside looked fantastic but behind closed doors she had to obey God to save her people from extermination! Had they not known God so many people would have perished!
Dear Heavenly Father, our Father God, we thank you for allowing us to know you, and to know You more! Help us to dig in Your Word and really enjoy waking in it daily, in Jesus name, amen.
