Stay
alert! Watch out! In His Word- 6-25-18
Sometimes we can
see the problems of life coming at us but what about the times when things seem
to be going smooth? Do you know that when things are going well it is easier to
slip up and make the wrong choices than when things are going awry?
When we are in
the midst of a storm we have more tendency to cry out for help but when we do
the right thing, we complete the task, we think we are pretty confident in
ourselves; then the enemy has us right where he wants us!
Think about it.
When you turn in a great project or proposal and get tons of pats on the back;
you think you did it! Guess what? You did! Guess what again? God did it through
you; for greater is He that is in you than who is in the world. So give God the
glory when things are going right and thank God for keeping them going!
The ideas, the
colors, the designs… thank God for them and give Him the glory; then accept
that He used you for doing it and say thanks!

In the same way, you who are
younger must accept the authority of the elders. And all of you dress
yourselves in humility as you relate to one another, for “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.” So humble
yourselves under the mighty power of God, and at the right time he will lift
you up in honor. Give all
your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.
Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls
around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. Stand firm against him, and be strong in your faith. Remember that
your family of believers all over the world is going through the same kind
of suffering you are. In his
kindness God called you to share in his eternal glory by means of Christ Jesus.
So after you have suffered a little while, he will restore, support, and
strengthen you, and he will place you on a firm foundation. All power to him forever! Amen.
1 Peter 3:5-11
For if God is with us no thing can
stand against us!
We need to remember that sometimes
when we go and do a thing for God the enemy looks for the pride in our heart to
pull on and make it all about us.
We need to be sure we are ‘prayed up’ before
entering into a mission or ministry; seek God for direction and guidance so
that your heart may remain right in His presence the whole time. Then when you
return and things get out of hand you can remember the wisdom from the Word of
God.
For wisdom will enter your heart and knowledge will fill you with joy. Wise choices will watch over you. Understanding will keep you
safe. Wisdom will save you from evil people, from those whose words are twisted. Proverbs 2:10-12
Do not mock His words, remember that you need His Word to keep you
strong and holy. Pray and read daily and then you will become the man or woman
of God that He intends us to be!
The Lord mocks the mockers
but is gracious to the humble. Proverbs 3:34
but is gracious to the humble. Proverbs 3:34
Dear Heaveny
Father, help us to accept the thanks but remain humble unto you, IN Jesus name
amen.
