Making Sense-In His Word
3-6-17
Are you going through
something today that is bringing you frustration or grief?
Some times we go through
things in life that we really have no clue why God is allowing such things to
happen. We cry out for help and wonder why He is not answering. We think to
ourselves ‘It just doesn’t make sense’!
I have one friend in the
hospital, another who has lost a son and several more who have lost their
spouses to one death or another. All of them are serving God, and each of them
is going through it in a way that amazes me! I would never be able to stand the
tests they go through, nor the trials. I watch as they cry, and they gain
strength from Him, and they go on living life.
Maybe I am not capable of even
understanding the ‘why’, but what I can see is that it does not even matter why but how they thrive, how they live through it that makes all the
difference in the lives of them and those around them. God gets the glory in their lives from that
day forward.
They are strong, if not stronger in their walks with Him. Sometimes
we still cry out to God for help, even if we feel it is futile.
How long, O Lord, must I call for help? But you do not listen!
“Violence is everywhere!” I cry, but you do not come to save. Must I forever see these evil deeds? Why must I watch all this misery? Wherever I look, I see destruction and violence. I am surrounded by people who love to argue and fight. The law has become paralyzed, and there is no justice in the courts. The wicked far outnumber the righteous, so that justice has become perverted.

The Lord replied, “Look around at the
nations; look and be amazed! For I am
doing something in your own day, something you wouldn’t
believe even if someone told you about it. Habakkuk 1:1-6
Look around at the amazing
things He is doing; instead of all the trying things that are happening in your
own life.
Keep praying, keep focused
on Him and He will help us make sense out of chaos.
He answers our prayers
eventually if we wait and listen and be patient. That is what they tell us, and
sometimes that is hard to do.
But the Word of God tells
us;
Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord.
Psalm 27:14
He will show you what to do to get the word out of what He
has done.
Then the Lord said to me, “Write my answer
plainly on tablets, so that a runner can carry
the correct message to others. This vision is for a future
time. It describes the end, and it will be fulfilled. If it seems slow in
coming, wait patiently,
for it will surely take place. Habakkuk 2:2-3
for it will surely take place. Habakkuk 2:2-3
Wait on the Lord, be of good courage and He will
strengthen your heart; wait I say on the Lord and He will make sense of it all,
in His Word and in His time.
Dear Heavenly Father, grant us strength to wait for
you to answer the prayers we pray, help us to listen for your still small voice
and to follow after You, in Jesus name, amen.

God makes us right in his sight. This is accomplished from start to finish by
faith. As the Scriptures say, “It is through faith that a righteous person has
life.” Romans 1:17
