Where are you going.. In His Word 10-13-16?

Word. Today I want to look at where we are going as we
dig into the Word of God and what do we hope to find?
For the word of the Lord is right, and all His
work is done in truth.
Psalm 33:3-5
Some read for peace… it
works at least as long as you can focus on the Word during your reading times.
Now if you are one of the stay at home moms who are out there trying to get the
read in quickly and get back to teaching or cleaning up after your little ones
then don’t give up! Think on what you read and you will go somewhere even if it’s
just a quick read when you first get up. Maybe you don’t read at all because
you do not think you have time to read the whole Bible so you quit right away?
Maybe you do not know what to do once you read the Bible, like what is next?
The Word tells us to think on these things…in Philippians 4:8. Why not look it
up and find out what it says to think on?

Oh, let me not wander from Your commandments!
11 Your word I have hidden in my heart,
That I might not sin against You.
12 Blessed are You, O Lord!
Teach me Your statutes. Psalm 119:10-12
Be sober, be vigilant;
because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom
he may devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same
sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world.
We are given hope for the tomorrow we live and
the guidance of what to do to live life according to God’s will in the Bible,
His Word. So when I ask you where you are going in His Word I want you to think
about where in His Word you are reading, and how that is going to grow your
life to be more like Him; that is what your answer should be! That you are
going down the path that God put before you to become more like Jesus if at all
humanly possible to do so!
If we expect to walk the walk we need to talk the
talk, or so they say but I think we will never be able to do either if we do
not read the Word in the first place.
28 Observe and obey all these words which I command
you, that it may go well with you and your children after you forever, when you
do what is good and right in the sight of the Lord your God. Deuteronomy 12:28
Dear Heavenly Father, help us all to get into
Your Word diligently and deliberately. Thank you for providing such easy
reading for our daily reads whether straight from King James Version or one of
the many styles of written word put into the version of our choice. Thank you
Lord for giving us life , in Your word, in Jesus name, amen.
