Struggling in His Word 11-2-15

Do you ever wonder why things are just not going as they should? You plan to follow in the path you wanted to pursue but the road you take brings you to the edge of a cliff instead of the lofty sand dunes you wanted to find. Once you climb down the rocky wall you find that soft sand is waiting for you at the bottom, but then you wonder how on earth you will get back up. Maybe you got all cut up on the rocks as you climbed down and the salt water is stinging your cuts. As you look up feel as if the wall has grown and you are left there alone to find a way out.

At about three o’clock, Jesus called out with a loud voice, "Eli, Eli Lama Sabachthani? "Which means; "My God, My God why have you abandoned me?"  Matthew 27:46

Jesus was hanging to death on a cross and God the Father turned away. He had all of our sins on Him and it was too much for God to look upon. Not because He was disgusted but I believe because the pain was too much to bare. It was enough that He had to come to earth to walk with us and then to die for us; but so many did not care. They wanted to do things the old way, the way they always knew even though it was wrong.

Sometimes we get stuck in doing things that we really know we should not do because its not going to end up giving God the glory, and afterward we feel bad. We may even repent, but still it is a struggle.
We struggle to do the right thing because the world makes the wrong things look so good!

There is good news! God knows what you are going through, He has felt it, seen it, been there done that and has the scars to prove it!
When things are not going as planned, or you find you took a wrong turn, or chose to go the wrong way its okay, God is waiting to be there for you, for me!
The Lord also will be a refuge for the oppressed,
A refuge in times of trouble.
 And those who know Your name will put their trust in You;
For You, Lord, have not forsaken those who seek You.
Sing praises to the Lord, who dwells in Zion!
Declare His deeds among the people. Psalm 9:9-11

What can we do to remember these things? How can we know how He will help us to get out of the ruts, the muck, the heaviness or the trouble we have walked into?
Get out of the mud and into the Word!
Then I said, “Look, I have come.  As is written about me in the Scriptures:  I take joy in doing your will, my God, for your instructions are written on my heart.”
I have told all your people about your justice. I have not been afraid to speak out,    as you, O Lord, well know. Psalm 40:7-9

Jesus came to clean us up! He gave His life to give us new life in Him and we can live this daily but we have to do a couple things.

No, I am not saying we have to earn our salvation but to walk in that newness of life feeling we must follow His directions.

-     Study to show ourselves approved. You know that I will always point    you to the Word!
-      Pray without ceasing- in and out of the day send off a prayer to God of    thanks, praise or  desires of your heart.
-      Spend time with others of like mind and heart; fellowship with the  believers, forsake not the assembling of yourselves together!

Whomever we hang with we will start to act like, so choose wisely those you follow, or walk with. If you truly want to make things better, and walk closer to Him you have to do the above things because its not going to happen by wishing upon a star!

Jesus teaches us how to walk with Him, then its our job to do it.
I am not trying to say that struggles will not come but when they do we need to keep our priorities focused on God and things will move alone must more smoothly.
Just put your trust in Him.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for guiding us in and out of our struggles. Help us to make the right choices in life so that we will not get ourselves in messes. In Jesus name, Amen.
