What next? In His Word- 10-26-15

 In His Word 10-26-15

There are so many crazy stories in the news lately; from school shootings to people trying to be someone they are not meant to be; even the shows on television are full of death and destruction of values and love and life as we knew it! People we think that we know lie to us daily; how do we know what to listen to and who to believe in? How can we be saved from this world of madness?

I don’t know about you but I look to the Word of God and in it I find hope for tomorrow and someone to trust; I get on my knees and cry out to my God.

Do not deliver me to the will of my adversaries; for false witnesses have risen against me, and such as breathe out violence. I would have lost heart, unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait on the Lord; be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart; wait, I say, on the Lord!
Psalm 27:12-14

Autumn has lately become the time for scaring little children and adults the like; when did it change to such a freaky time of year from a time of fun and candy? I know some would tell me its always been this way but I have been sheltered from such things by my parents protecting arms. Perhaps to some extent that is true but it seems with progress in films and multimedia more and more people are posting their own evil and scary photos or videos without thinking of what the outcome could be.
I worry sometimes that when the Lord really comes that people will not be able to tell the Truth from fiction. We already have had so many false prophets claiming to know the dates of the end of the world; though the Bible tells us clearly we know not the day or the time.  I often wonder were people will go to get help who trusted false truths when they find out they were wrong?
I want to shout from the roof tops; “Look to Jesus!”
Trust in the Lord with all your heart … and stop trying to figure things out!
Proverbs 3:5-6 paraphrased of course but truth just the same.  It gives us such wisdom and guidance even in the scripture verse it self. When we truly trust Him with all of our hearts then we can find peace and hope even in the midst of the gools and goblins!
Personally when this time of year comes, and the days are shorter and the nights are darker it makes me desire to look ahead to Thanksgiving, and Christmas. Though it has become quite “commercialized” as they say I find that looking ahead to what is coming and trying to find a way to bring Jesus into every conversation or planned event helps me trust Him more. If I am planning for the future of celebrating Him, and sharing joyful times with friends and family that are centered around Him in that planning then I can find hope that gets me through. Then I can find courage to adventure on in life no matter what the enemy throws in my path and I can look to Him for guidance.
The recent events of people telling us to get ready for the end of the world, or dooms day looming where things will go wrong and no one will be ready rub me the wrong way. As I stated above the Word tells us not to worry about things, and to focus on Him and doing His will in our lives He wants us to live for Jesus and telling others about Him not to worry that God will not take care of His children.

For what is our hope, or joy, or crown of rejoicing? Is it not even you in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ at His coming? 1 Thessalonians 2:19

When trouble comes we should wait on Him; take time in prayer, in His presence.
When darkness surrounds us; seek the Light! For those who seek Him will find Him when they seek for Him with their whole heart!
God wants all of us, not just the part that fits in our life at the moment. He doesn’t want us just to celebrate Jesus during the week of Christmas He wants us to celebrate Jesus all year round. He wants us to do more than just celebrate Him. Father God gave us Jesus so that we would have Him with us every day of ever year of our lives. He walks with us and yes even talks with us; through the Word, prayer and times of meditating on these our God communicates with us and guides us through the day.  All we have to do is trust Him, and believe in Him, Jesus Christ.
So what are we waiting for? Why do we worry or fret? Our God shall supply all our needs, according to His riches in glory. We may not get every thing we wish for but whatever God sees as a need will be met. If we are truly trusting Him with all our hearts He will direct us. And if God is for us no thing can stand against us.

But even if you should suffer for righteousness’ sake, you are blessed. “And do not be afraid of their threats, nor be troubled.” But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear; having a good conscience, that when they defame you as evildoers, those who revile your good conduct in Christ may be ashamed. 1 Peter 3:14-16

So stop worrying about the end of the world! Start living for Jesus today! Read the Word, share the Word, accept His love and share His love!  Walk worthy of your calling; start today, tell someone that Jesus loves them and that they should trust Him with all their heart! When we do so we will be strong enough to handle things for now, and when Jesus does come again, and we will be ready!
Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for being here for us. Thank you that You gave us the Holy Spirit to guide us and open our eyes to the truth. Help us to walk worthy of Your love today, in your direction; in Jesus name, amen.
