Apply Daily! In His Word 9-7-2026

Today I am thinking about what applies to me in the Word of God. I hear people saying, “Oh that is for people who yadda-yadda- yadda…” So how do I know what applies to me? Where do I go to find out what is important for everyone to know? Lets look—

In His Word!

Here are some scriptures that refer to things we need to apply to our lives. Now when we read the Bible it’s all relevant, but it is all not precisely for each one of us. Obviously when God spoke to woman with a son who was about to go home make bread and die together would not be specific for us, but what it did show us is to trust God when He says something. He will provide; He has a purpose to do so. In the book of Psalms there are a lot of encouraging things that do specifically mean us! As in Psalm 134 we are to praise the Lord, if up our hands toward His holy place and praise the Lord. Remind ourselves of the great things He has done and thank Him and pray for others as well. See that’s easy, isn’t it?

Everyone who serves the Lord come and offer praises. Everyone who has gathered in his temple tonight lift your hands in prayer toward His holy place and praise the Lord. The Lord is creator of heaven and earth, and I pray that the Lord will bless you from Zion. Psalm 134:1-3 CEV

See it says everyone who serves the Lord, that means you if you are a follower of Jesus Christ!

Don’t you know its time to praise the Lord? Set your mind on Him and let the praise begin, and the glory of the Lord will fill whatever place you are in!

I am not conceited Lord, And I don’t waste my time on impossible schemes. But I have learned to feel safe and satisfied just like a young child on its mother’s lap. People of Israel, you must trust the Lord now and forever. Psalm 131-all. CEV

It is really a matter of trusting Him, to show us what to do, in His Word. We need to do the three things I say over and over again, Read, Pray , Apply and repeat! So we read, got that one.

Then we can pray and be sure our connection is true! Be sure that you know Him and He knows you because the truth is in us when we do. Many people go to church, sing the songs, but if our relationship is not true, really, and honestly connecting us to God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, then we will know it and He will. When I read this verse below I realized that we need to check our hearts, check our mind, and check our spirit-man! You know that inner voice that tells you that you are not doing what you should? That one that tells you to get reading and praying more that you ignore half the time? That is what I call your ‘spirit-man’.

Don’t get caught up in the cares of the world and forget to be caught up in the Holy Spirit! His presence is what gives us that peace, that shows us what is right and wrong, and just how much we need to seek Him.

"Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, 'Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?' And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!' NKJV Matthew 7:21-23

"But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall." Matthew 7:26-27 NKJV

You can see it right? If you do not build your faith on Christ the Solid Rock of our Salvation, then we will be blown around cause the world is going wild and we need to see the difference.

Once when I was a young Christian at a youth outing at a skating rink, there was a man skating backwards. I asked him how he could do that without looking behind him. He said he was basically relying on the Holy Spirit to lead him. Now I do not know if he was just teasing me, but I remember this and know that sometimes we do not see what it is that God is giving us to walk through and that if we do not seek Him, get directions, and trust Him in the way that we go; we will not be able to ‘skate in the spirit’, but we will fall. Spiritually speaking, falling is harder to come back from a trip in the spirit, than physical falling sometimes!

"So, I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. 1If a son asks for bread from any father among you, will he give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent instead of a fish? Or if he asks for an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!"

NKJV Luke 11:9-13

Everyone can seek Him and know that we will find Him, when we seek with all our hearts, not half heartedly as they say. Full on honestly wanting to speak with and to God, then honestly listening for His answer. Even when we don’t want that answer.

There are two hundred and ten verses that tell us about ‘everyone’ in the New King James Version of the Bible. I could go through each one but that would take a lot of explaining about circumstances. These ones that are above are the ones that stuck out to me as things to discuss today.

There are certain things that we all need to do, plain and simple. We all need to worship the Lord, because He is Lord.

But what does it mean to be Lord?

Well, a lord is someone who is in charge or overseer of a property and a people. The ‘lord of the mansion’ for instance would be the person in charge of it, generally the owner. The people would live in his domain but not necessarily in his house. They would be subject to His authority as long as they lived in his domain, kingdom or whatnot. He would be head over them and give them orders, yet there was a certain amount of freedom to do it or leave his domain. He would give them provisions, though this was not always a lot depending on if the lord was good or evil. Conditions of their lives were consistent to the goodness of the lord in charge.

So, if Jesus is our Lord, then we have to be subject to His authority, we live in His domain with Him in our lives and as our leader.

We need to follow His direction in our lives and we will receive His provisions as we trust Him with our lives.

Considering that our Lord is good, not evil, we can know and trust that His provision is going to be good! He knows that we are doing well for His kingdom was we spread the word of His goodness. He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.

He asks only that we ask in order to receive such things, that we believe in Him and that He will grant us that which we ask for.

We can feel safe in His kingdom knowing He will guide us in our lives as we should go and knowing that whatever happens to us; He will be there to take care of us.

Even if its not a great thing that we have to go through, He is there in sorrow and pain as well to lift us up.

This means everyone who believes in Jesus and asks Him to be his or her Lord. Because He says not everyone who says Lord Lord will be saved but those who believe in the Son of God they shall be saved!

So, what am I saying? That in order to have Jesus be your Lord, my Lord, we need to ask Him to be.

Not for His sake but ours. Then we show Him that we have made Him Lord of our life by acting on it!

That is the Apply!

I provide proof that I trust Him, that I am obedient to His Word by doing what I read!

His Word says to praise Him, and I will praise Him!

When the Word of God says everyone who gathers in the temple ( or church today) should lift their hands and pray and praise Him… I will do so! I love my Lord and want to do what He wants me to do.

The Word of God tells me that I should not forsake the assembling of myself with other believers and spend time encouraging one another in Love, and with sharing of the scriptures. So, I will do this!

I have found many people are like I was when I first believed, they think it is okay just to be alone and not gather with other believers. This is okay for a time I believe because God has a purpose in separating ourselves from outside damage, but He also knows that we need our brothers and sisters in the Lord to hold us up at times. Sort of like Moses in Exodus, he had to have his hands held up by two men in order to stand in the battle!

Sometimes we need brothers and sisters in the Lord to hold us up spiritually, as well as physically.

How can we be sure we are doing what God wants us to do and fellowshipping with other believers of His choosing?

We can pray for peace. He will direct us if we ask Him to, to a church or group of believers who meet to study. Just ask!

Many people sit around wondering why God is not doing what they want only to realize they have not actually asked Him. We should ask, even though God knew what we wanted He wants us to ask Him.

God has promised us he will supply all our needs according to His riches in glory. Who knows how wonderful it can be to have all our needs met? If we ask Him to meet them, then we can expect them to be met.

We can know what applies to us by reading the Word, studying the Word and knowing that it applies to us. Then we can ask God to provide the answers that we seek. If we do as He has said, in His Word then we can know that we can trust Him to do what He said He would do.

Dear Heavenly Father, I thank you that you are there for me, personally in my life. I thank you that you can be my best friend, my only friend or you can be the Leader of my friends! Thank you, Lord, for providing me with situations to cause me to grow closer to You and closer to my friends as well! Lord direct my paths today and help me know what you would have me do with this day you have given me. In Jesus Name amen.
