Peace is the Word... Advent Day 7 12-7-2025

It's the second week of Advent and the Word is Peace!

Here we go and it is a true story!

If you keep your focus on Jesus and the Word of God you really can find peace, unwavering faith, and strength in the middle of a storm.

Now we all know the story of Peter and the storm when Jesus told him to walk on the water; he walked on the water while he was focused on Jesus Himself,  and then took his eyes off Him and looked at the choppy water and stormy weather and plop, splash! He sank! Then Jesus grabbed Peters hand and pulled him up again and said to him basically, "why did you doubt?" When we take our eyes off of the peace we receive from Jesus and the Word of God and prayer, then we will sink too! (see Matthew 14)

I've told you the story about my baby boy being born beyond blue at birth and my peace that passed all understanding. God kind of kept that from me even realizing that he was a code blue, and taking him to the baby ICU was like simply normal. I had so much peace I handed my little red bible to my husband and told him to find a scripture to stand on cause our baby was fine!  The thing is he was! They ran tests and checked him out hooked him up to oxygen and heart monitors but he was fine!

The point is I was fine cause I kept my mind on the song that kept my mind on Him. His Word tells us this! He will keep in perfect peace, perfect peace, when we keep our mind, eyes, heart, on Him.

You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you!         Isaiah 26: 3-6

Jesus asked, “Do you finally believe? But the time is coming—indeed it’s here now—when you will be scattered, each one going his own way, leaving me alone. Yet I am not alone because the Father is with me. I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.” John 16:31-33
