Advent (Countdown) Day 3 Celebrate the Hope 12-03-2025
If you re following along with our videos you know that
there are at least 500 verses in the NKJV version of the Bible that use the
word Hope. In today’s blog we will cover one or two of them with the focus of ‘Hope
Eternal’, or the Hope of the resurrection through Christ Jesus and His great
mercy. This is just one verse of the many.
When we go through the Advent it is truly to study and
celebrate the purpose for Christmas and thus we are looking at the Baby in the Manger story. True story!
As a child the favorite movie I would watch each year was ‘The
Little Drummer Boy’. Now it may be fiction but it was one that totally focused
on the Christ Child. My Second favorite was Charlie Brown of course, but the
funny thing is I did not yet know Jesus as my personal Savior! I did not know
Him as my Lord, or my Hope for that matter! Back in those years that some call
BC days, or Before Christ, I lived in B.C. Canada! British Columbia had a lot
of churches for me to try out with new friends each time my family moved. Each
time I searched for what it was to be a church goer. I did not really
understand the meaning of it all, let alone know that I needed to know Jesus
before eternity could be a thing. Jesus was not yet my hope of glory, my hope
eternal. Then one day I had a dream of Jesus in my back yard. I realized in my
dream who He was and that I had a lot to ask Him. I tried to get to Him but the
way was full of obstacles and doors. By the time I got there He was gone, and
then I woke up. Wondering. I think I had hope that Jesus was real at that
point!
Fast forward to today and I know that my redeemer lives! I
know He is the hope of my salvation being real. I can trust Him with my life
needs, desires, and provisions, both spiritual and physical.
Let’s look in the Word for today’s focus.
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In
his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the
resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can
never perish, spoil, or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you, who
through faith are shielded by God’s power until the coming of the salvation
that is ready to be revealed in the last time. In all this you greatly rejoice,
though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of
trials. These have come so that the
proven genuineness of your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes
even though refined by fire—may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus
Christ is revealed. Though you have not
seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in
him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, for you are
receiving the end result of your faith, the salvation of your souls. 1 Peter
1:3-9
If it sounds repetitious, in our Bible reading of the other
days, it could be. We have to realize thought, that it’s written by another
person and they still have the same point! Jesus Christ deserves the honor and
glory for gifting us with eternal life. We celebrate Jesus for this reason at
least. but there will be more to this reason so keep coming back!
Heavenly Father, we praise you for gifting us with the Hope
of Eternal life today and we thank you for Jesus Christ bringing it to us. In
Jesus’ name…
