Do you get it? In HIs Word 8-25-2025
Some days things happen that really show us how much God has been working even when we did not see it happen. People get healed of Cancer, broken bones are miraculously mended way before it should have happened, and homes restored as lives come together. God works all things together for the good to those who are called according to His purposes. Paraphrased from Romans 8.
And the Father who knows all hearts knows what the Spirit is
saying, for the Spirit pleads for us believers in harmony with God’s own will.
And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are
called according to his purpose for them. For God knew his people in advance,
and he chose them to become like his Son, so that his Son would be the firstborn
among many brothers and sisters. Romans 8 27-29
So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to
Christ Jesus. And because you belong to
him, the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you from the power of sin
that leads to death. The law of Moses was unable to save us because of the
weakness of our sinful nature. So God did what the law could not do. He sent
his own Son in a body like the bodies we sinners have. And in that body God
declared an end to sin’s control over us by giving his Son as a sacrifice for
our sins. He did this so that the just requirement of the law would be fully
satisfied for us, who no longer follow our sinful nature but instead follow the
Spirit. Romans 8:1-7
We have the same Holy Spirit in us that Jesus gave the
disciples who went about healing the sick and baptizing them in the name of the
Father, Son and Holy Spirit today. We hae the knowledge of Truth in our hearts
and minds when we believe in the Lord Jesus Christ. This means we no longer
choose to walk in our sinful ways but chose to follow His guidance in His Word.
If we complain all the time, or steal all the time that is
no difference to God, to Him a sin is a sin. But as Believers we should no
longer be dominated by the desire to sin. We should struggle with it!
For instance if I get up and begin complaining about a mess
left behind by someone instead of just taking care of it, I am choosing to sin.
But if I catch myself and feel bad about it, then I am fighting that sinful
nature and reminding myself that with Christ I do not have to give in to the
complaining.
Do you get it?
Whatever your sin is, there are a lot to choose from, fight
it! Get it out of your life, fill the thoughts with worship songs, or scripture
straight up! Stop the sin with the power
of the Holy Spirit in you ! Speak the name of Jesus! There are so many ways to
get rid of the sin that keeps pulling at you when you know you have taken the
steps to rid yourself of it. Sometimes you just need to be honest and call the
complaint a sin!
When we confess our sins it makes us able to get rid of
them! When we ask God to help us, He will give us a verse to stand on and call
it what it is!
Then we can dominate instead of being dominated! Read the next batch of scriptures
to remind yourself you are no longer controlled by sin but you control it with
the Holy Spirit’s help!
Those who are dominated by the sinful nature think about
sinful things, but those who are controlled by the Holy Spirit think about
things that please the Spirit. So letting your sinful nature control your mind
leads to death. But letting the Spirit control your mind leads to life and
peace. For the sinful nature is always
hostile to God. It never did obey God’s laws, and it never will. That’s why
those who are still under the control of their sinful nature can never please
God.
But you are not
controlled by your sinful nature. You are controlled by the Spirit if you have
the Spirit of God living in you. (And remember that those who do not have the
Spirit of Christ living in them do not belong to him at all.) And Christ lives within you, so even though
your body will die because of sin, the Spirit gives you life because you have
been made right with God. 11 The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead,
lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give
life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you. Therefore,
dear brothers and sisters, you have no
obligation to do what your sinful nature urges you to do. For if you live by its dictates, you will die.
But if through the power of the Spirit you put to death the deeds of your
sinful nature, you will live. For all
who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God.
So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful
slaves. Instead, you received God’s Spirit when he adopted you as his own
children. Now we call him, “Abba, Father.” For his Spirit joins with our spirit
to affirm that we are God’s children.. Romans 8:8-16
So did you get it? When our sinful nature tries to get us to
give in and do the wrong thing we just need to remember to call up on the name
of the Lord, or call out to Abba Father, and His Spirit will help us stop, drop
the sin, and roll on with Jesus in peace, confidence, and strength to stay away
from such things that call on us to walk the wrong path.
God has the control because we gave it to Him, we have the
control because He is in us via the Holy Spirit. You know what that means? Sin
can’t get us back! Cause God has us in His control!
Think on that for a few minutes and you will get it!
Be blessed today as you fill yourself up with the Word and strength
from God!
In Jesus name
