Begin again! In His Word- 5-12-2025

Sometimes life gives us a U-turn moment. We start going on a road thinking we are following the GPS directions and we hear the ‘blingblanbloom- take a U-turn…’ come from our machine. When this happens its either that we chose a different root or we missed a turn.

Often our way seems better to us, but eventually if we trust the GPS we have to follow its directions. When possible that is! My friend was once told to turn off the side of a bridge, of course it was a direction given too soon so she was not where she needed to be yet, still it was funny if not scary!

When we go through life we need to be sure we are following our GPS correctly. This GPS is God’s Perfect Spirit’s direction. When we are in tuned with His Spirit then we can see the right way to go. This only happens when we truly trust God, and give over to His directions and control over our lives.

And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him. Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect. Because of the privilege and authority God has given me, I give each of you this warning: Don’t think you are better than you really are. Be honest in your evaluation of yourselves, measuring yourselves by the faith God has given us. Romans 12:1-3

With God’s Perfect Spirit we cannot do like we do with the car’s direction device, we have to follow it precisely to get the location we are sent to. We cannot say “I know better than God” and expect peace for instance. If we do not realize first that God is the all knowing, all directing, creator of the world, and our lives need to be acceptable unto Him, then we will probably run into a U Turn moment.

Remember my favorite scripture to quote? Proverbs 3:5-6?  There is more to this chapter! Check it out!

My child, never forget the things I have taught you. Store my commands in your heart. If you do this, you will live many years, and your life will be satisfying. Never let loyalty and kindness leave you! Tie them around your neck as a reminder. Write them deep within your heart. Then you will find favor with both God and people, and you will earn a good reputation. Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take. Proverbs 3:1-6

Oh, yes you did just read that! Don’t forget what He taught us, store the things in our hearts so that we will have many years to live and not just that but to live satisfactorily. To remind ourselves of what He says, we can literally tie them around our neck, or wear jewelry or shirts that remind us. Hmmm, maybe even a jacket with ‘Faith over Fear’ on it to remind us that we need to live it! For the most part, we need to follow that GPS and not try to figure it out because we choose to trust in the Lord, and His guidance! We chose to trust Him with our all! To seek Him and listen, then follow.

I do not like to get lost, so I often listen to GPS even when I think I know where to turn, or what exit I need to take. So when it comes to God’s Word I like to follow His direction and stick to it! To remind myself with His words, or at least the WORD OF GOD, scripture by scripture, verse by verse, chapter by chapter, book by book… that’s how we live life! We take steps before we run!

We listen to His directions before we turn, unless He says “Jump now!” then we just jump and don’t ask questions!

Then if God tells us to take a U-turn, we take it! Trust he has a reason and just do it.

Let’s make it a plan! Lets also read the rest of the chapters mentioned today! God has so much more for us that I can put in one weekly bit of the Word and Devotional, in His Word…

In His love,

Teresa Wilson
