Years ago, I knew someone who was great at giving me wisdom.
She was my first Pastor’s wife and a very godly woman. She told me once if we
get our award in this life it will be much smaller than the one God will give
us in heaven! It gave me reason to wait
and think when I was hoping someone would say something about how good a job I
did at something that I worked hard on. You know how good it feels when someone
notices, and sometimes when no one does you just want to say ‘hey look what I
did!”.
God’s word tells us not to do that in Mathew 6.
Watch out! Don’t do your good deeds publicly, to be admired
by others, for you will lose the reward from your Father in heaven. When you
give to someone in need, don’t do as the hypocrites do—blowing trumpets in the
synagogues and streets to call attention to their acts of charity! I tell you
the truth, they have received all the rewards they will ever get. But when you
give to someone in need, don’t let your left hand know what your right hand is
doing. Give your gifts in private, and your Father, who sees everything, will
reward you. Mathew 6:1-4
If you read on through the chapter you will find that Jesus
teaches us how to pray in it. He shows us the design to follow and gives us a
great idea of what we should be thankful for as well! The chapter also points
out that we should not look for treasures on earth, in this life, because our
treasure should be in Heaven.
It shows when we are focused on the right things, God
blesses us!
We should not be working to get blessed by doing His will
but we should do His will and find that we are blessed because of it. Where our
treasure is there will our heart be. What we find the dearest and hold it in
our heart is the thing that God will see and know that we love Him the most!
Should we walk around worrying if we are doing the right thing?
No, though I catch myself doing this sometimes, I know that my God has told me
not to worry about things, not to worry if I am doing the right thing because I
am following Christ. That is the best thing! So when I seek Him first, and not
worry about what I may need, or want, or can’t have even, then the rest will
follow and unfold as He sees fit. So why bother worrying about things?
Th things I am talking about are, well dumb. Things like
will my clothes dry in time for what I need to wear them for, when I have a
closet full of other things I could wear if I needed to. Or If I have the right
ingredient to make a certain meal, when I have many other things I could cook.
Things we don’t think about as worrying but concerns are often just another way
of worrying! So, we need to stop it!
Make a plan to stop ourselves from worrying an take each day
in stride knowing that God is before us and we are seeking Him for the needs
when we pray, ‘give us this day our daily bread…” and He knows what we need. So
why worry?
Let’s do it! Let’s stop the worry! Lets obey the scripture and live life more
freely, peacefully, and unstressed!
So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we
eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’ These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers,
but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. Seek the Kingdom of God[e] above all else, and
live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.
“So don’t worry about
tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough
for today…” Mathew 6:31-34
“You can enter God’s Kingdom only through the narrow gate.
The highway to hell[a] is broad, and its gate is wide for the many who choose
that way. But the gateway to life is very narrow and the road is difficult, and
only a few ever find it. Matthew 7:13-14
Being a Christ follower and believer is not always an easy
choice the road is less traveled at times and narrow. The good thing is that
when we choose to follow Him we will find the right way to go and the right
thing to do without worry or fretting. We can thank our God for providing the
path and the Way the Truth and the Life that is in us when we choose to
believe.
I heard today that many Christians are fearful of death,
which is really just silly since we have Christ in us the hope of glory who conquered
sin and death! So worry is like being afraid
of things too. Just incase I did not get it through to myself and you we need
to stop worrying! Trust God, He will
guide us through each day without even thinking!
What are you going to do?
I am going to trust Him with all my heart not just the parts
I think I need to, which means no more worry! In Jesus name The choice is
easier than we think my friend!
No Worries! It’s a thing! In Jesus’ Name
