Don't stop now! In His Word- 8-29-2023

Today I read through Romans Chapter 8. I had actually turned there to read verses 5-6 that tells us to live according to the Spirit and pay attention to that; because I was reading about living according to the flesh, or humanness leading us to death and destruction. I read more.

Something that came to mind, even if it seems like in this world things are going well, we need to be watchful. We need to keep our mind on the right things right now! Do not say oh good we all have vaccines we can go be world-like again.

We need to keep on praying daily, keep on spending that time alone with Him because He is still Lord of our lives, and He is still on the throne!

Do not get swept up on the carefree days, thinking all is well when the enemy lurks out there still, in the form of a virus or in the form of destructive behavior. Our world is not well.

There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death. For what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin: He condemned sin in the flesh, that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. For to be [b]carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be. So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God. But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His.  Romans 8:1-9 NKJV

Do not accept condemnation if you took a bit of time to enjoy life after the past few years! God encourages His people to rejoice and celebrate! Many times, in the Word we find places where He declares a feast or celebration or tells His people to through the men of God, after a battle. Well, my friends we have a world of battles out there and it may seem that we are constantly ‘doing battle’ against something.

Now is the time to dig in, plant your feet and ready yourself for the months ahead!  Life may have been fun and carefree in the Summer and there may be fun ahead of you right now. That is okay, as long as we are prepared. We need to stay prepped and ready in the Word and full up on prayer time so that when the wiles of the devil, our enemy come at us we can block it! Not even have to fight but block with our Sheild of Faith! Get ready; be prepared!

Keep all the armies around you mobilized and take command of them. A long time from now you will be called into action. In the distant future you will swoop down on the land of Israel, which will be enjoying peace after recovering from war and after its people have returned from many lands to the mountains of Israel. Ezekiel 38:7-8 NLT

We need to walk according to the Spirit. To do that we need to keep our mind on things above, focused on God and reading our Bibles every day. So I say, let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then you won’t be doing what your sinful nature craves. 17 The sinful nature wants to do evil, which is just the opposite of what the Spirit wants. And the Spirit gives us desires that are the opposite of what the sinful nature desires. These two forces are constantly fighting each other, so you are not free to carry out your good intentions. Ephesians 5:16-17

We need to listen to our Worship Music, and other things that build us up in our faith! Gather together in groups and share the Word, the testimony of what God is doing and encourage one another in the Word!  Pray with one another, but also pray alone, ask God to strengthen you for any battles to come!

Most of all increase the knowledge you have of God, and His will in your life! Then follow it! Do it!

In Jesus’ name, In His Love…
